Osteria Il Governo was recommended by a friend and not a single dish disappointed. If you are visiting Lake Como, this restaurant is a must! The service was of an incredibly high standard and every dish was explained in detail by the waiter, who has kept the restaurant active and in the family after many generations. He later took us around a tour of the restaurant, showcasing its rich history. This place is a fine dining experience that should not be missed!

The beef was good, the pasta too, but the duck was absolutely terrible. The vegetables that came with the duck tasted like muck. It's a shame, but in the end, the whole meal didn't live up to our expectations. And there's no physical menu; you have to scan a QR code, which for me is a deal-breaker right off the bat...

A wonderful, extremely characteristic osteria in a corner of Lezzeno with a spectacular view of Lake Como. We had a wonderful meal, with impeccable service and incredibly kind staff. I highly recommend it.

Nice, but the place's charm seems a bit contrived. I have some doubts about the much-vaunted historical authenticity. The selection is limited, but the dishes are good; it's a shame about the portions. The appetizer isn't generous for the price.

Osteria il Governo – 10/10, an absolute heartfelt recommendation We spent New Year's at Lake Como and visited Osteria il Governo twice – by choice and with great enthusiasm. On our first visit, we happened to walk by. The terrace was so lovely that we spontaneously decided to stay for an espresso. Thanks to a fantastic recommendation from the owner, this turned into two glasses of excellent wine. At that point, it was clear: we would be back. No sooner said than done. We booked online (mentioning that we were traveling with three dogs), and on our second visit, we were greeted like old friends. With the dogs, we were given a quiet table in a small side room – incredibly thoughtful and warm. The menu is explained with such passion that you want to order everything. The origin and preparation of each dish are described so vividly that we ended up ordering more courses than planned – and didn't regret a single one. Our highlights: Carpaccio of cold-smoked rainbow trout fillet Onion soup Octopus Capon broth – the best broth I've ever had in a restaurant To finish, a fantastic chocolate dessert with candied oranges Service, ambiance, and cuisine of the highest standard. Warm, authentic, and exceptionally good. Anyone in Lezzeno or on Lake Como should definitely stop by.
