I recently had the fortune of stopping to eat at the osteria il Gallo nel pozzo, in the central square of the small and characteristic village of Panicale. I never expected to eat so well: welcomed with a tasting of heavenly local new extra virgin olive oil with a selection of homemade breads and other excellent appetizers, followed by fusilloni made with fresh pasta of the day with extraordinary Cinta Senese ragù . My mistake, I only drank water and coffee in the end without taking the wine, who knows what other delight I missed. Also the impeccable service, with all courses served on refined and elegant majolica and the owner discreet but always present when needed. My most sincere compliments, I hope to be able to return soon even if unfortunately I live very far away

Best tiramisu ever,and I mean ever !pasta dish with truffle was fantastic,my wife had spinach and ricotta dumplings,food was truly fantastic, lovely situation as well,try it ,you won't be disappointed 😋😋

Incredible discovery, wonderful location in the center of Panicale. Mis en Place with well-kept Deruta ceramics. Impeccable service and with great care. Excellent entrée, high quality bread and different varieties. Refined oil tasting, DEVASTATING appetizers and fresh pasta. Wide selection of Umbrian wines, and more. To return again and again

Osteria sita nella piazza di Panicale, grazioso paese assolutamente da visitare. Sono stato con la mia famiglia a pranzo. Abbiamo gradito il benvenuto con i cestini di cipolla, pane fresco, olio umbro e una cremina di burro e pomodoro. I primi sono stati fantastici, consigliabili sicuramente gli umbricelli di cui si allega una foto. Anche i ravioli alla carbonara sono stati favolosi anche se sarebbe stata gradita una maggiore quantità. Inoltre, molto buone le costatelle ed il filetto. Dolci fatti in casa, ottima la tartatelle di cioccolato ed albicocca. Tutto molto buono,c’è attenzione verso il cliente e verso i piatti. Con il proprietario ho avuto modo di scambiare piacevolmente due parole: persona molto cordiale ed amante della propria terra. I prezzi sicuramente risultano essere poco più alti della media tuttavia sono giustificati dalla qualità del prodotto. Complimenti, ritorneremo.

Romantic location, in the small square of Panicale. Osteria with attention to everything: from the furnishings, to the ceramic plates, to the presentation of the dishes. The menu has traditional Umbrian dishes but revisited in an original and interesting way. High level of raw material. top!

Capitati per caso il giorno di ferragosto. Ambiente molto carino, con dettagli curati dalle posate e piatti al bagno pulito con due tipi di sapone per le mani. Un punto in più per la carta dei vini, con una piccola descrizione per ogni cantina e poi una descrizione a parte per ogni bottiglia che aiuta a scegliere vino giusto per i piatti scelti. Menù con 4 opzioni per ogni portata, piatti presentati molto bene ma soprattutto molto gustosi. Personale gentile e il prezzo giusto per la qualità offerta Straconsigliato!

02/01/2025: We stayed at this property for the New Year weekend. A relais in a suburban area surrounded by lots of greenery. The facility is very nice and clean. The staff is welcoming, helpful, kind, polite, always available. We made use of the spa and massage service at the wellness centre. I gave it four stars and I am very sorry about this only for some painful points for us, this criticism is only intended to be constructive. The rooms are not very large as is the bathroom which has no support point, even to place a simple beauty bag, the lights in the room are too dim it is even difficult to put on make-up, the rooms do not have a full mirror, the ventilation service is centralized and for two nights we didn't sleep a wink due to the heat. We reported the inconvenience to reception but unfortunately the problem was not resolved and we are very sorry for this. Good quality food, rich breakfast, desserts made by them, very very good. New Year's Eve à la carte dinner with typical local products, rich dishes, very good. The New Year's Eve dinner was organized in the largest room tastefully decorated, with large and spacious tables, the menu was not to our liking. Refined cuisine, dishes well served but which in our opinion had no soul. The animation was also not appreciated as it was completely absent and not very engaging. With the exception of a few limited sore points, the place is worth it.

11/02/2025: Excellent Trattoria, very well attended by Daniela, Silvana's daughter, the food is excellent and clearly regional, the atmosphere is cozy. Absolutely recommended!
08/02/2025: We went to this restaurant during our stay in Todi and left fully satisfied! We ate very well, with abundant dishes full of flavour. We started with a platter of cold cuts and cheeses, really excellent and plentiful, so much so that we struggled to finish the following courses (with great disappointment, because they were delicious!). The tortellini were spectacular, homemade and with a tasty and enveloping filling. The mixed grill was no different: quality meat, cooked to perfection and accompanied by tasty side dishes such as a delicious rosemary chickpea purée. We also really appreciated the selection of craft beers, perfect to accompany the meal. And finally, a pleasant surprise: they offered us bitters and coffee, a gesture that we appreciated very much. The prices are very honest for the quality and quantity of the food. Compliments to the cuisine and the service, always kind and attentive. We will bring home a beautiful memory of Todi also thanks to this splendid trattoria. We will definitely be back!
