We went for lunch yesterday with my family and my dog. From the outside, the place is a bit hidden, seemingly waiting to be discovered little by little. Once inside, the dining room revealed itself in all its beauty: warm, welcoming, simple, and authentic. We started with the cold cuts to share as an appetizer. Very good, I must say. We also had a pumpkin tart; I didn't try it, but my daughter loved it, and the look spoke volumes. I then had pumpkin cappellacci with ragù, and my husband had the same thing but with sage. They were delicious, and I, a particular fan of ragù, have to compliment them. The sliced beef with beans all'uccelletto was delicious and perfectly cooked, as were the potatoes. We're from Venice, and we couldn't help but notice that the other tables were mostly occupied by locals. We felt right at home. I also wanted to thank the host and waitress for being so kind to our large dog, as well as to us. I'd love to return. The prices are very fair, the portions are just right. I couldn't have dessert because I was so full.

I'm having a hard time giving 5 stars in all categories... so 4 stars for the location... but go to Frantoio... it's worth it!!!!
Well-made dishes... not even banal ones.
Good wine... perhaps the wine list could be improved.

Seven of us stayed in Ferrara for one night. We booked this place on the recommendation of our host, and among the recommendations, we couldn't have chosen better.
The atmosphere is beautiful and refined, with a real olive oil mill inside. The food is excellent...we all had the cappellacci with ragù, which were truly amazing. The appetizers were truly delicious, from the beef carpaccio to the creamed cod, and the serving temperature was perfect, and the bruschetta was truly delicious.
The dinner concluded with various desserts, none less than a 10. Excellent value.
The owner was extremely kind, as was the waitress.
Highly recommended if you're visiting Ferrara for a positive culinary experience.
