Had a wonderful lunch here while exploring sciacca- would highly recommend!

A small and welcoming restaurant in Sciacca. Intimate, original, and authentic Sicilian cuisine. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. The value for money is excellent. We'll be happy to return.

Osteria is a place I recommend to many... a welcoming place, where they prepare an excellent truffle carbonara that you will hardly be able to forget😊. The meat is cooked to perfection, the staff is helpful and attentive to customer needs... Recommended!!!!!

On our first evening in Sciacca, after driving from Palermo, we stumbled upon Osteria Il Commensale with its lovely terrace tucked away in an alley – and we’re so glad we stopped. As soon as we sat down, the scent of truffle filled the air, and even though my husband isn’t usually a truffle fan, he ordered the carbonara with truffle. I chose the pasta alla Norma, a classic Sicilian dish. Both were superb: generous portions, rich flavours, and absolutely delicious. We finished with a traditional cassata siciliana (the beautiful green marzipan cake), which was the perfect sweet ending. Service was friendly and helpful, and the bill for two – including everything – came in under €50, which felt like excellent value. A really positive experience – great food, warm service, and a charming setting. Highly recommended if you’re in Sciacca.

This osteria in Sciacca is very welcoming! The girls serving us are very kind and attentive... The food was delicious, the busiate etnea pasta was delicious, and the meat melted in your mouth! We really enjoyed it, and if we return to Sciacca, we'd love to come back to this place!

Excellent food, excellent service

We booked, and they sat us at a table on some diagonally descending steps. The cover charge is €2.50, and a square of paper. We ordered a mixed salad, split in two, and then we ordered a typical pasta dish: a busiate all'norma and a busiate Etnee. My wife's order arrived exactly the same, but it was the wrong tagliatelle. After complaining, they remade it, as if nothing had happened. So first I watched my wife eat, and then she me. Half a liter of house wine, two bottles of water. €49 total. No apologies, no humility. Don't complain if you don't come back.

The waitress was incredibly friendly. We ordered an appetizer, two different steaks, pasta, and fries—everything was delicious. I definitely recommend it.

A lovely discovery during our stay in Sciacca. We've been there three times and always had excellent food at reasonable prices. The first courses are excellent, and if you want well-prepared meat, this is the place to go. Very friendly staff and a lovely place.
