Osteria Il Campiello In Venezia

A very cool and quiet place, away from the crowds, ideal for a relaxing meal. The fried food was excellent, and the battered vegetables were also delicious. The side salad, prepared with quality ingredients, was also very much appreciated. Unfortunately, I didn't like the second course. I had asked for either grilled fish fillet or grilled sole, both of which were on the menu. I had intentionally given both options, knowing that not all the fish listed is always available. I was then told that the sole was only for frying, and was offered a grilled sea bass fillet. In the end, however, the fillet arrived, heavily seasoned with oil and parsley, which looked as if it had been defrosted and pan-fried, rather than grilled. Nothing wrong with that; it was a dish that could have been enjoyable. However, if the menu says "grilled fish fillet," that's what I was hoping for, not a plate full of pink peppercorns.

We found this little restaurant almost by accident, tucked away in the alleys of Pellestrina. We ordered grilled prawns and a sea bass fillet, accompanied by house white wine and a bottle of water. The prices are more than fair, considering they're all seafood dishes (we paid €43 total). The owners were very kind, especially when they helped us with a small payment issue. The only downside is perhaps the wait, likely due to the start of the warmer months.

Nothing special. We had lunch on a Sunday. Everything was just okay. You could ask for better.

We recommend! The Bollito Campiello appetizer is excellent. The fried food is also good. The staff is welcoming and friendly.

A very quaint seafood restaurant, very convenient to the Pellestrina ferry stop. Excellent service, with an unexpected kindness. Truly delicious dishes, especially the pasticcio (grandmother's recipe is spot on), the fried fish, and the scallops. The portions are also good. Highly recommended.

It's always a great satisfaction, whether it's for an aperitif or for a meal in the campiello, you always leave very satisfied. Excellent value for money. Congratulations 😊

I recently had the opportunity to have lunch here with my dragon boat friends. We rowed all the way from the furthest end of Lido and slowly explored the lovely Pellestrina. This osteria is located in a quiet area of the town, in a campiello we might say, where the host warmly greeted us. We had mozzarella in carrozza and polpette as appetisers, a pasticcio di pesce, and fritto misto as well (the one you can see in the picture!). Everything was also accompanied by white wine, and the meal ended with a delicious tiramisu. I overall enjoyed the experience, the food was great, the fritto misto not particularly oily and quite flavourful, and I got to make new friends as well, so overall I would say a fantastic, absolutely recommended restaurant in a more authentic area of the Ventian lagoon!
