Small and welcoming restaurant in the old (and upper) part of Biella which was recommended to us without hesitation by the host of our B&B. Reservation required
We were made to sit at the external tables under the portico (the only very small flaw I find in this is the passage of people... but perhaps negligible)
Traditional Piedmontese menu with an eye on slow food.. Knife-cut meat with fennel, very tasty and well seasoned, traditional veal with tuna sauce (finally with egg in the sauce and not mayonnaise) soft and juicy, the agnolotti del plin in their own way with thicker pasta and a really strong filling, torcetti made by them, like everything else.. We took a bottle of Bramaterra 2016 and a more than adequate bill. To be recommended to everyone

I had dinner in this place with my partner a few days ago, reservation made well in advance for 8.30pm. Having experienced the day and finding ourselves in the area earlier than expected, we kindly asked if we could sit down a little earlier, the lady replied that it wasn't possible because they were having dinner (opening time to the public was scheduled for 7.30pm and it was 7.15pm). I think the gesture wasn't very courteous because it could have at least made us sit at the tables outside. She invites us to go to the place next door to drink and we reply that unfortunately it's all full. He still lets us out and asks us to come back later. Apart from this "slip", portions are not very generous but the raw material is certainly of high quality. Poor choice of wine by the glass but the lady was able to suggest us well (even if she served us the second wine different from the first in the same glass......!) ...a place with attention to the smallest details, reminiscent of the smells and times of our grandmothers. Very nice and clean bathroom, excellent idea to leave some sanitary pads available.
In summary, I suggest greater flexibility and hospitality at the opening, a greater and more careful choice of wines served and higher quality bread (the one served little goes well with the quality of the dishes served).
Perfect place for an intimate and romantic dinner, not suitable for large groups or families with children.
Thank you

I ate here with my mom. It was almost two, we were desperately looking for a place that still had the kitchen open to eat. They had an eye on us and made us sit down (initially disagreeing with each other, but quickly smoothing things over). Despite the name and the "slow food" vibe we didn't wait too long. The vase of wildflowers as a centerpiece is very popular, completing the artisanal atmosphere.
The prices are not low, but the food was great

Small place, very intimate, very historic, I would say a shop from the past. Very friendly owners and staff. Menu that includes various vegetarian dishes as well as typical Piedmontese ones. We had courgette flans, risotto with nettles and robiola, tiramisu and chocolate cake. Our friends also tried the artichoke salad and ravioli del plin. To my taste, the flans were good, the tiramisu was excellent, but I wasn't particularly convinced by the risotto (I prefer it more savoury and with a stronger flavour). I found the correct bill: 4 starters, 4 first courses, 4 desserts, 2 bottles of water, 1 of Erbaluce and 4 coffees for €184. Possibility of purchasing torcetti and meringues.
I appreciated the small meringues served with the coffee (delicious and coming from someone who doesn't like meringues) and the fact that the owner offered a wonderful, and very welcome, snack to our friends' dog. Kindness that makes the difference. Must try again.

The restaurant is located in the historic center of the Piazzo di Biella village and overlooks the main square of the town. The place is ancient, small but welcoming, with attention to detail that enhances it. The staff is very kind and hospitable, attentive to customers. The dishes, typical of local cuisine, are delicious and have high quality ingredients. Honest prices. Friendliness, courtesy and quality. Highly recommended.

Piccolo locale nel caratteristico borgo del Piazzo di Biella.
Il locale, se al completo, risulta un po' rumoroso. La cucina si apprezza per la qualità della materia prima, presenta piatti del territorio ben cucinati.
