Osteria Disguido In Serralunga d'alba

Was expecting a nice setting and delicious food considering came to see Fontanafreda and read about food on reviews. Unfortunately food was average. Just did not compare to all the great food we had in Barolo region. Taste was so so. The place looks like a large coffee shop in a big hotel and considering we are in the middle of vineyards it’s totally indoors with no views. Quite disappointed. The service was friendly.

Osteria sita all'interno del Villaggio Narrante di Fontanafredda. Ingresso attraversando l'enoteca. Ampia sala. Menù non ampio. Buon il vitello tonnato e il brasato. Pessimo il vino scelto (un Barbera, mal di testa tutta la notte). Bene il servizio.

Informal place, but with attention to the smallest details. The setup is very reminiscent of the Eataly venues spread across Italy and the world and the culinary offer, curated by the starred chef Alciati, is based on the valorisation of Piedmontese products and in particular of the Langhe. Exceptional quality of the raw materials (the meats are of the highest quality and freshness), the dishes are presented in a simple way and without many frills, but with a small touch of accuracy that makes the difference. As a good tavern, the offer changes daily, but the steak (100% Fassona) and the plin (handmade at the front counter) are never lacking. The desserts, always in the Piedmontese tradition, are delicious and well presented. The service is informal, but precise and punctual. Finally, the price is the right compromise between the quality of the food offered and the informal touch of the place, proving to be fair

I plin più buoni mai mangiati. Pieni , saporiti, con un risotto al Marsala commovente. Siamo stati per due pranzi, servizio celere , molto gentile .
