If you want to try really tasty authentic Italian food, THIS is your place. Excellent food, exceptionally fast serving (btw they don't give you much time to think so it is good to look in advance at the Menu), staff is nice and the prices are affordable. We were two people ate 2× Tagliattele al ragu (highly recommended) and drank 1/2 liter red wine (it was good, had better, however this one considering the price was pretty good) and paid 31€. The pasta was al dente. There is not option for reservations. It operates on the principle first come first serve. The Restaurants is always full so I recommend to come for dinner around 18:00/18:30 (the locals eat a bit later so the queue is not that big and it is moving pretty fast so 20 to 30 minutes is the wait if there are more than 10 people on the line before you.

Recommend it! I visited this place twice - the first time it was for dinner and I was waiting around 5 minutes, the second time was for lunch and I had been waiting since 12:00 till the opening hour (12:15). They don't accept reservations but have a lot of tables, people usually eat fast and go. It's full all the time. The staff is polite, the service is fast and the food is very good. I tried tagliatelle al ragu and really liked them.

The food is very Italian and very good, the wait is quick and everything is very clear, tagliatelle and lasagna are probably the most desired items, the prices are quite reasonable, during peak hours there is a chance of waiting in line in front of the restaurant for your table

I had to visit one of Bologna's top-rated restaurants, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The cotoletta Bolognese was perfect in flavor, portion size, and garnish. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. My friend ordered tagliatelle with ragu, which was also delicious. The number of people waiting outside might be a bit intimidating when you arrive, but they move very quickly. I would definitely go back.

The food was good, and the atmosphere was simple but welcoming. However, waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes for three starters, with a waiter who rudely responded to your inquiries, certainly didn't help the rating.

12/12/2025: Very large and crowded trattoria, typical Bolognese food and good, fast and attentive service.
11/12/2025: The crescentine with cured meats and cheeses were excellent; I wasn't entirely satisfied with the lasagna (the pastry was a bit overcooked and the béchamel sauce was a bit runny).

21/12/2025: In the center of Bologna, just steps from Piazza Maggiore, next to the Nanni bookshop and overlooking the small square of Santa Maria della Vita, lies a historic restaurant, Buca di San Petronio, a must-visit for Sunday lunch. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming, with two interior rooms and a patio under the portico, complete with a warming oven, providing plenty of seating. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. For starters, we chose a pan of ragù with crostini and grilled octopus, followed by a cockerel with caponata, grilled salmon with vegetables, and a fragrant artichoke. We washed it all down with a glass of Cantina Avanzi Lugana di Sirmione. An excellent tiramisu with coffee was a must. The chef even stopped to ask how we had eaten, a welcome gesture for a customer. I'm more than happy to recommend this place, even though there was a small mix-up, I think due to forgetfulness: we had booked with The Fork, which offered a 20% discount on the menu (excluding drinks and probably a cover charge), which wasn't applied to the final bill of €125. We're still happy we went; the food was truly excellent.
