Just inside Bari Vecchia. Simple and basic service, but the food makes all the difference. Delicious appetizers; we had really good fried and grilled dishes. If I return to Bari, I'll eat here again.

This old Bari restaurant is near the castle. Inside, the ceilings are barrel-vaulted and the furnishings are wooden. The cuisine is traditional Bari, with a variety of appetizers and traditional first courses. Everything is excellently cooked and the portions are generous. Fast service and friendly staff are also available. The prices are truly affordable.

First, I should apologize for having the audacity to go there alone, not being Italian. I didn't feel welcome. Unfortunately, I was unlucky, and neither of the two dishes I wanted were available 😂 So I took what the waiter showed me – Orecchiette al ragù… For me, it was average and very salty. The antipasti on the next table looked inviting. All I can say is that I'm not Italian, but I'm not Italian. I'm not Italian. It's a shame I'm so lucky and I'm not happy with the food I'm eating 😂 What a shame, I've been waiting for the most – Orecchiette al ragù… For me, it's not Italian, it's not salty. Gli antipasti sul tavolo accanto sembravano invitanti.

Excellent choice. Authentic food prepared on the spot. I highly recommend the spaghetti all'assassina and the rice, potatoes, and mussels!! Divine!! Worth the trip.

28/01/2026: A place that passes itself off as a pub, but only has one beer on tap (Castello). A total disappointment. The pizza was frankly nothing special. The karaoke also bothered us quite a bit throughout our stay. We had to move as far away as possible from where they were singing. I didn't like it.

14/02/2026: We're visiting family in Altamura from Germany. The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is fantastic. If we ever return to Altamura from the Ruhrgebiet, we'd love to stay here again.
27/10/2025: The place was super crowded on a Saturday night but everything was perfect from the service to the food. I recommend it to everyone.
