A place from another era, a real pleasure to spend time chatting with the owner.

A small, laid-back place for a simple aperitif with a Select and a sandwich overlooking the canal.

An authentic Venetian experience. We wanted to order coffee, but the waiter wouldn't let us; he offered either white wine or red wine. Both were very good. We ordered eggs and a small cheese sandwich. Everything was fine.

Too strong!!! One of the very few informal and authentic places in Venice. Enjoy sandwiches or salads and a few glasses of wine...

The respectful, traditional manner of the "parona" (the headmistress), assisted by her patient and tireless son, is also quintessentially Venetian. Flavorful raw and cooked salads, satisfying salami and gorgonzola sandwiches. The hard-boiled eggs stand out, a masterpiece of historic Venetian osterias, now virtually impossible to find. The menu is classic and limited, but excellent for a lunch break. Thirst-quenching red and white wines are served from original demijohns displayed on the counter. The decor is beautiful, with Dei's bicycle hanging up (...in Venice, the perfect place).

This is a local favourite spot and they are trying to preserve the environment of the space from tourism. If you are a tourist, please search up some basic phrases and order in Italian, don’t disturb the regulars, and don’t take pictures inside the shop. The owner was very kind to us despite our incompetent Italian. Grazie!

Everything was very good. Franco is very nice, and his mother is gruff but friendly. A proper bacaro!

What can I say... you must like the very popular and simple atmosphere. The lady isn't particularly friendly, but be careful not to ask for anything you don't see clearly at the bar. Like mixed spritz, it makes her furious...

The eggs are excellent, the sandwiches are good. When being grumpy becomes a point of pride, it's no longer very funny.

A typical and authentic place, with limited seating, creating an intimate and convivial atmosphere. The prices are fair, making it a pleasant choice for those who want to enjoy a good wine in good company. The cured meats and "mezo ovo" (eggs) are excellent. The only negative is the lady's lack of friendliness: I understand her age and her manner, which can be part of her "character," and I can personally accept it. However, I think not everyone will appreciate certain jokes, especially on a first visit.
