An unforgettable hidden gem near Lake Orta. The chef welcomed us warmly, even as he was closing, and served one of the best meals of our trip — incredible bistecca, fresh pasta, and rustic sides.
What made it truly special was the atmosphere: dining alongside a local Italian family celebrating together felt like stepping into real Italy. Authentic, hospitable, and unforgettable — this is the kind of experience you travel for.

A simple place immersed in nature. We ate the exquisite house antipasto, followed by a risotto made with local herbs, perfectly creamed with love, followed by a tagliata with potatoes and vegetables. The locally sourced meat was excellent, tender, and delicious. To finish, a bonet with amaretti biscuits, delicious... followed by coffee and homemade limoncello flavored with mint and grapefruit. Few places nowadays offer such a good experience that you can taste the food as healthy and prepared with love... and the kindness of the chef and the waitress's service are also worthy of praise.
A sensory experience worth having for those who trust the chef and his passion.

A vintage, welcoming place where you can feel right at home. Locally sourced food masterfully prepared by Pietro, including nettle risotto and superb eggplant and zucchini parmigiana. It's always wonderful to return.

A place off the beaten path. Located inside the old schoolhouse in the village of Ameno (Tabarino). You don't just wander in; you have to go because you want to. Fantastic hospitality, convivial and super relaxed service. Local, locally sourced food, authentic dishes and an authentic atmosphere. Cheese and cured meat appetizer, wild herb risotto, sliced steak, artisanal gelato, and local wine. Finish with a homemade lemon and rose petal liqueur. Just 10 minutes from the lake, a little haven of tranquility.
