The beauty of this place is indescribable in words! We were welcomed with a delicacy and courtesy that made us immediately feel at home. Osteria del Vicario is not just a restaurant or a simple B&B, but a refuge for the soul, a corner of peace nestled between the ancient walls of the medieval village of Certaldo. Breakfast was a real experience: rich, genuine and entirely vegan. Each dish tells of the passion and care with which it was prepared, and the choice of quality ingredients is perceived with every taste. A detail that struck us deeply was the biscuit, also vegan, offered to our Super Lucky🐶, a thoughtful gesture that demonstrates the attention and respect that this place reserves for every living being. The location is simply magical: the timeless charm of the village, the tranquility that envelops every corner and the breathtaking view create a unique atmosphere. It is the perfect place to take a break, slow down and rediscover the pleasure of authentic hospitality, knowing that you are supporting an ethical and cruelty-free reality. It is not easy to manage a historical heritage without distorting it: Erik and Eleonora succeed admirably without losing sight of creativity and experimentation. Sleeping in a 13th century monastery in the rooms that once belonged to the monks and in the morning going down a staircase to enjoy breakfast in the internal room or on the magnificent terrace is priceless! You will not be disappointed even by choosing the restaurant's proposals: the vegetable menu varies every month following the seasonality and the inventiveness of the young chef, together with the truly remarkable cocktails. For us it has become a place of the heart: returning is always a new experience where past and future blend harmoniously.

We went to Osteria del Vicario taking advantage of a promotion for New Year's Eve, which included overnight stay and dinner with a tasting menu. We felt truly pampered throughout our stay. The dinner was fantastic, excellent food and impeccable service. Our room was a little small, but had all the essentials and was clean. Absolutely recommended for a romantic getaway accompanied by excellent food, we will be back.

I piatti sono stagionali, gustosi, colorati, ti fanno apprezzare a pieno le potenzialità della cucina vegana. Il locale è nel borgo medievale di Certaldo, immerso nelle colline toscane. Una tappa imprescindibile per tutti i viaggiatori che amano essere coccolati e stupiti a tavola.

Very convenient bed & breakfast for visiting Certaldo Alta and other medieval villages in the area. We had the opportunity to have the tasting menu for lunch and we were very happy with it. Furthermore, the 'Certaldo alto' car park is convenient for reaching the restaurant on foot if you have few suitcases. Thank you Osteria del Vicario 🫶🏻 see you next time!

A little away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, we enjoyed the view here with a fantastic picnic basket with olives and pesto. Plus an incredible Chianti Spritz. Great atmosphere in the garden behind the hotel/restaurant on the terrace.
