As someone who’s not a Michelin Guide expert, I can say with certainty that Osteria del Viandante deserves far more than just a single star—it’s a place that’s clearly shooting straight for a second. This was the highlight of our entire trip, and honestly, it’s hard to imagine anything else living up to this experience. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with a level of service that instantly set the tone for what was to come. The staff were warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through each course and ensuring that our every need was met. Their genuine passion for the food was evident, and it made the entire meal feel like a special event. Now, let's talk about the food. The multi-course tasting menu was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was an artwork, bursting with flavors that were as bold as they were delicate, every bite perfectly balanced. It’s clear that attention to detail and creativity are at the heart of this restaurant, with the chef pushing boundaries while respecting tradition. And let’s not forget the wine pairing—it was exceptional, enhancing each course and offering us the chance to explore regional varieties that were absolutely perfect with the dishes. Though we had to take the train from Bologna and later a cab back to the city, it was worth every minute of the journey. This place is an experience that transcends just a meal; it’s a culinary journey, one that we’ll remember forever. Osteria del Viandante is a true gem, and I honestly believe it’s aiming for—and deserves—a second Michelin star. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. This is a dining experience you’ll want to be part of. ✨🍷 A small note: We were hoping to thank and congratulate the chef in person, but unfortunately, he didn’t come out to the dining room. Regardless, the experience was truly unforgettable, and we’ll be sure to return soon!

My advice is to ask for a plate of off-menu cold cuts as an appetizer. Many, if not all, were chef-made and delicious.

Impeccable restaurant, beautiful restaurant, excellent service and exquisite food

The 3 stars are for two reasons: - the price of the wine on the menu was different from the price we paid when we received the bill (we were told the wine list was out of date...). So we paid 90 euros for wine instead of 75. - the receipt was issued only after explicit request, with someone in another room being called specifically to do it. As for the actual review: the atmosphere is elegant and tastefully decorated. The staff was very friendly, and the service, I dare say, was impeccable. We also truly enjoyed the food (I should point out that I'm not a "connoisseur"). Aside from the two aforementioned events, the food and wine experience was absolutely positive.

We had lunch and opted for the tasting menu. The amuse bouche were very good. Expectations were high and unfortunately they were not completely met. In some dishes the individual flavors of the ingredients did not emerge, sometimes giving a confusing result to the tasting. The cheeses and the related explanation were excellent. The ice cream was good. Unfortunately, the malfunctioning air conditioning did not help the experience. The more than 30 degrees during lunch and the associated sweating of each customer visible to the staff were unbearable. Given the significant inconvenience, we would have expected better treatment at the time of the bill, which instead did not undergo any change despite the strong inconvenience experienced. The price of the wines was above average.

A fairytale place, you enter and you feel like a queen, excellent service, magnificent food, I was amazed by the cheese trolley and the super prepared girl and listening to her enchanted you, I who love cheese, I could have listened to her for hours, I recommend it for celebrating events that must remain in your heart ❤️❤️❤️
