It has little of a tavern. Family restaurant with good food and service provided by the owners. Romanesque but light food. If the location is crowded it is a bit noisy. Excellent prices. A few € below average.

Classica osteria romana di un tempo, a gestione familiare. Apprezzata la brevità del menù: poche proposte, tutte ispirate alla cucina romana (qualcuna con rivisitazione). Da non perdere l'antipasto del Velodromo: bruschetta con puntarelle e uovo sodo (speciale!), tortino di patate, pomodoro e cipolla, ricottina con composta di cipolle rosse, frittatina di verdure, radicchio alla brace, pane fritto (che ti sblocca un ricordo...), fagioli all'uccelletto (che invece si possono fare meglio...). Poi due classici: tonnarelli cacio e pepe e rigatoni alla carbonara (buonissimi! con un po' di pancetta in più sarebbero stati perfetti). Abbacchio con le patate (entrambi buonissimi), salsicce e broccoletti (se la verdura fosse stata più tenera e un po' più saporita avrebbe esaltato le salsicce) e coratella (tenerissima). Per chiudere, il loro zabaione al marsala (una nuvola di dolcezza!) e due crostate deliziose (crema e amarene e ricotta e more). Ben fornita la cantina. Servizio caloroso ed efficiente: i tempi a tavola contano poco se vuoi mangiare bene. Buono il rapporto qualità/prezzo

Top quality and genuine products, cooked in simple and tasty dishes. The menu is oral because it changes based on the freshness and availability of the products. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. The service is fast; the place is historic and well looked after. There is a relaxed and familiar atmosphere. Excellent quality/price ratio. I highly recommend it to those who love to taste typical dishes, not only Roman cuisine, prepared with love and with simple, fresh and top-quality ingredients.

Impeccable, as usual. Typical dishes (eat the tail, the coratella and the pajata...) top appetizers (SPAZIAL aubergines in oil), sweet ricotta and incredible sour cherries!!!!! Very fair prices. APPLAUSE.

Osteria del velodromo and also the "old" family-run neighborhood trattoria, which offers typical dishes of Roman cuisine (and not only), slightly revisited. The owners are kind, courteous and make the environment anything but formal, where you can still have a chat and the chef comes to the table to introduce himself. The dishes are plentiful and the starters very tasty. We started with a plate of 4 bruschettas with chicory and egg...delicious. on Fridays they also serve seafood dishes but we preferred the Roman cuisine, continuing with a good carbonara, excellent Roman tripe and stuffed rolls, concluding with two tasty Roman artichokes. In the end, an appetizer, two first courses and two second courses, a side dish and a bottle of 2017 wine, we ended the evening with a bill of 84.00 euros, a glass of grappa and one of an excellent artisanal amaro, kindly offered. For those interested in taking a nice walk after the binge, about ten minutes away on foot there is the splendid Cappellolla park... to swallow a bite. we will be back.

Abbiamo mangiato bene in una piacevole atmosfera finchè, proprio a fine pasto, il proprietario/gestore ha iniziato a sbraitare in cucina pesantemente contro gli altri lavoratori evidentemente scordandosi che la cucina era proprio là con la porta aperta, che la sala era piccola e che c’erano delle persone. È stato un pó imbarazzante. Peccato perchè le signore in sala sono state disponibili e simpatiche e il cibo ben fatto e gustoso a prezzi accessibili e onesti.
