Good food away from the tourist crowds

Ristorante nei pressi di Sesto Calende ma non sul lago. La gestione famigliare è efficiente e d'esperienza. I piatti sono vari sia di terra che di mare. Tutto buono e ben preparato. Il servizio è accogliente, cordiale, veloce e simpatico. Prezzo giusto e porzioni giuste. La struttura è in legno con un pavimento in pregiato cotto che ricorda le trattorie lombarde. Consigliatissimo.

Restaurant near Sesto Calende but not on the lake. The family management is efficient and experienced. The dishes are varied, both land and sea. All good and well prepared. The service is welcoming, friendly, fast and pleasant. Right price and right portions. The structure is made of wood with a fine terracotta floor reminiscent of Lombard trattorias. Highly recommended.

Nice environment and good food. Better to book

Was here two days ago with family. The restaurant is lovely and well kept and sets up a good atmosphere. However, the menu isn’t clear on how the starters work - prices are charged by person and not for the totality of the dishes. I understand this can happen however it should be explained to customers beforehand. The waiter was quite nice and attentive. The house wine (we’ve chosen the red) was really great, with a light yet interesting taste. Now, for the food. We are Portuguese (one of the best-rated cuisines in the world), we’ve been to Italy before and have eaten in quite a few different places. There is a clear attempt in presenting dishes in a nice, “fine-dining” nuanced way however the flavours aren’t there. The starters are specially average/poor. We paid 72€ just for the starters. Honestly not worth it at all. Overall, not worth the cost. No need to spend 172€ total in Italy to eat good food unless you’re going for a chef restaurant or something more upscale of course.

Menu san Valentino, a 16 euro... Con vino, acqua e caffe.... Wow... Tutto buonissimo. Con tanta varietà. Dolce trittico a 4 euro... Andateci sicuramente.
