I really appreciated the natural environment between the lake and farmyard animals all around. I ate well in a tavern environment, from home, congratulations to everyone!

Pieve Modolena, via Zanardelli 9: Every time I come to this place, I am amazed by the change of atmosphere, I pass by the large and busy roundabout on the Via Emilia to Sant'Ilario, I take via Guido D'Orso, I pass the last warehouses and I find myself immediately immersed in the Reggio countryside, I reach Case Vecchie della Pieve, I cross the little bridge over the Modolena, and after a stretch on a country road I find myself in the quiet of the Osteria of the Fisherman. A low, simple building on the shore of a fishing pond. In good weather, in the summer expanse, in the middle of our countryside it is very pleasant to spend the evening, but even when it is impossible to stay outside, the quality and care of the food will amaze you. The opening fried dishes are excellent, the inevitable fried gnocco, the chizze and the cod, followed by the Reggio Emilia tradition respected in the cappelletti in broth, but also revisited with the cappellacci with purple cabbage or the passatelli with cream of mushrooms and scorzone truffle. In winter, a delicious cotechino, or, in other seasons, the fragrant pork shank or baked ribs with a side of potatoes in their skins. The mixed homemade desserts complete the work. Luca and his very kind staff will not betray you and will help you discover the other specialties. Restful and silent atmosphere of the Reggio countryside a stone's throw from the city.
