Osteria del Pescatore In Tropea

We happened upon this place spontaneously. The friendly "Buoana sera" left us with no doubts, and we immediately felt comfortable and welcomed. The starter was great, and the main course topped it all off. Unfortunately, we can't relate to the other reviews at all. The service is very attentive; a quick glance at the food is enough. We were asked several times if everything was okay. I asked for the side dishes, but we were simply impatient and hungry, and the waiters weren't incompetent. They arrived shortly after the main course was served. We can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience. The tuna steak was the best we've eaten. The calamari was amazing. And now, one more criticism to make it more authentic: the Espresso Martini needs espresso beans ;) Grazie mille!!!!

Beautiful place... excellent dishes

A young German lady approached us outside the Osteria Del Pescatore. After we had briefly chatted and I told her about our previous experiences with the restaurants in Tropea, she recommended the Osteria Del Pescatore to us. We were skeptical at first, but that changed within the first five minutes. The waiters spoke Italian, English, and Spanish, were extremely courteous, and accommodated our every need. The timing of the antipasti and our main course was perfectly coordinated, so that everything flowed seamlessly without the annoying waits that are so common. The waiters all communicated with each other, and when they saw that a dish was coming to an end, they immediately called out that the next course could be served, without any feeling of being intrusive. The spaghetti con le vongole was exceptionally delicious; there was no salt in the vongole, as is often the case. My bistecca di vitello was perfectly prepared and seasoned, with a wonderful pink center to the meat. A great recommendation from the lady!

My favorite place for dinner in Tropea. Delicious food at absolutely fair prices. Many fish dishes, a very good wine selection. This osteria is truly a little gem, tucked away in a quiet side street in the old town. Anyone looking to spend a relaxing evening with good food in Tropea should definitely stop by here.

I've been coming to Tropea for many years and always enjoy going to the Osteria del Pescatore. In addition to the restaurant's beautiful atmosphere, the friendliness and warmth of the staff immediately strikes you. You immediately feel at home and welcome. The food is outstanding. No matter what I've tried so far, it's simply delicious. They serve not only fish, but also meat and vegetarian dishes. So there's something for everyone. I definitely give it 5 stars and highly recommend it. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Abbiamo deciso di mangiare in questo ristorante poichè in un posto di mare come tropea volevamo mangiare del pesce fresco; siamo arrivati e siamo subito stati accolti e coccolati dallo staff che ci ha aiutato a rendere l’esperienza indimenticabile. Come antipasto abbiamo preso degli involtini di calamaro ripieni con il mango (accoppiata fantastica) poi un risotto con la spigola ed il lime molto delicato ma allo stesso tempo molto saporito e con quel tocco di freschezza dato dal lime. Il pesce freschissimo e gustoso sono stati i protagonisti di questa cena svoltasi alla “corte dei miracoli” di tropea…esperienza bellissima sicuramente da rifare, un must se si viene a tropea
