For a short weekend in Assisi, this osteria was recommended to us. We went with the children and had a great time. The food exceeded our expectations and the staff were very kind and helpful.

It's a shame we can't give it a sixth star, it deserves it! The restaurant is a rustic building nestled in the San Francesco woods, with parking a two-minute walk away. The atmosphere is traditional, very warm and welcoming. The food is tasty and plentiful, with some absolutely unforgettable delights, like the appetizer of cured meats and focaccia or the apple pie, which I would even put in my top three favorites. The first courses are truly delicious, especially the tagliatelle! The service is attentive and very helpful. The bill absolutely reflects the quality, flavors, and quantity you eat.

Wonderful lunch! Top-quality ingredients, cooked with care and elegance, despite the simple, traditional recipes. Excellent service. The young man who served us was incredibly kind and friendly. The place is surrounded by greenery. Highly recommended, I can't wait to go back!

A charming spot in the San Francesco forest. A great stop at the end of a wonderful walk through the countryside. Very friendly staff. Truly excellent value. Fabulous food and drinks. Stunning, typical Assisi building with vaulted brick ceilings. It feels like you're reliving the atmosphere of an old medieval inn. Highly recommended. The only place I've ever been where there's no cover charge!

My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant nestled in the San Francesco forest. It's a shame the rain forced us to cross a muddy patch of land. Everything else was perfect: the food was of the highest quality and the dishes were executed to perfection. The service was excellent, and the lady in charge of the dining room—whose name I unfortunately don't know—was very kind and eager to accommodate our needs. We had the ossobuco, which was truly delicious, and the game bites (venison) were also very good. The baked potatoes and sautéed chicory... Everything was delicious. We are truly satisfied. Highly recommended.

09/01/2026: Some meals stay with you, and this was one of them. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed, and that feeling stayed with us throughout the whole evening. We began with the arancini, which were simply exceptional — crisp on the outside and full of flavour inside. The pasta with cavolo nero was deeply comforting and beautifully balanced. For mains, the veal cheek was outstanding: meltingly tender, rich and soulful, while the mixed grill was perfectly cooked, full of flavour and seasoned with real care and respect for the ingredients. Dessert was just as special. The orange parfait was fresh and elegant, and the homemade dessert of the day was a true little surprise — simple, honest and delicious, just like the food you hope to find in a place like this. What really makes this restaurant shine is the people. The staff were genuinely kind, attentive and proud of what they serve. Combined with a lovely selection of local wines and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, it felt like discovering a little hidden gem in Assisi. This is the kind of place you remember long after the meal is finished. Highly, highly recommended ❤️
