I went last night with my family for the first time. The atmosphere was super cute (both inside and out), welcoming and clean (the bathrooms were impeccable). Very efficient and unobtrusive service. The food was delicious (the fried tripe especially!) and there was no long wait. Highly recommended!

An authentic osteria where you can feel the atmosphere of home. The homemade first courses are highly recommended; I had tagliatelle with ragù. You can taste the passion in the kitchen. A true Romagna/Italian osteria, an oasis of flavor.

Excellent restaurant in the center of Forlì, discovered during a visit to the San Domenico Museum. Delicious off-menu cappelletti in extraordinary broth, strozzapreti with mushrooms and sausage, delicious roast rabbit, and very flavorful tripe. Traditional house Sangiovese wine, and to finish, a fantastic Moretta Fanese, which was new to me. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Thursday lunchtime without reservations. Highly recommended!!!+++

It's a shame I discovered it so late! The cuisine is truly impeccable for someone like me who has quite picky tastes. I can't wait to go back and try new specialties!

Excellent food, especially the exquisite giardiniera, the fresh pasta as expected from a great Romagna trattoria, and the host recommended a lovely San Giovese (we Florentines and Chiantigiani, delighted with the discovery, bought 12 bottles from the winery once we got home!). The rustic, welcoming atmosphere is definitely worth returning to and highly recommended. Finally, the value for money is excellent, even better!

Osteria Don Abbondio

27/04/2026: The location is perfect, right next to the Museo Civico San Domenico. We arrived at 1:40 PM feeling very hungry and had high expectations. The restaurant is spacious and we were seated immediately without a reservation. The young staff were energetic and welcoming. However, the timing was a major letdown. After finishing our appetizers, we had to wait 30 minutes for the main course. By the time it arrived, I wasn’t sure if the food was actually good or if I was just starving. Even with few customers left, the dessert took another 10+ minutes. Great atmosphere, but the kitchen pace needs serious improvement.
26/04/2026: We come to Don Abbondio when we're in Forlì for exhibitions at the San Domenico Museum. We love their traditional Romagna cuisine, reinterpreted with a modern twist. Seasonal menu.
