The staff is courteous and available to offer the best possible service. The service was very satisfactory. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. The portions are generous, and with an appetizer and a main course, you'll be completely satisfied. In my opinion, the quality of the products used is high. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely consider eating there again. Highly recommended!

A charming place, with two internal (non-connecting) dining rooms and a large outdoor space. Unfortunately, not all the outdoor tables are covered, but even in the event of unexpected rain (as happened to us), the staff was very quick to resolve the issue, finding room for everyone inside. Kudos to them for their ability to resolve the situation. Fair prices (an entrée averages around €12) and very good dishes. We tried the passatelli of the day (with bacon, fossa cheese, and hazelnuts) and a plate of cacio e pepe ravioli with bacon (very, very good). We also tried the piadina as a side dish (+€2), which didn't disappoint (as expected in this area). Service times can be a bit longer during peak hours, it must be said, but honestly, we didn't suffer too much. The place fills up quickly, so reservations are recommended. However, even without a reservation, if you're patient enough to wait, a table will eventually arrive. The kitchen doesn't close early for lunch, and the staff try to feed everyone who's patient enough to wait. Recommended, also (but not only) for the constant kindness one of the staff members has always shown to everyone who approaches him (even to those who have all sorts of complaints about him after a lavish lunch).

Sunday lunch. Small and very crowded. The tables are very close (perhaps too close); the waiters bump into the backs of our chairs several times as they pass (sorry!). The waiters are attentive and fast. Reservation time: 1:15 PM; table at 1:20 PM (it had to be vacated). We ordered first courses; for the second course, arrosticini. Naturally, dessert and coffee were served. The tagliatelle were fantastic, probably handmade. Hearty ragù. The pumpkin tortelli were delicate. The arrosticini were also good (there were a few more, but the chatter distracted me and I was late in taking the photo: I think there were 10). A great surprise-discovery: the Tenerina cake (never had it before). The house white wine paired well with everything. The coffee could be improved. Great place! I think we'll be back; I already have something in mind. Part 2. Sunday lunch. This time we ate outside: May 31st, sooooo hot with a light breeze. After ordering the first course, I asked if I could have calamari in a stew as a second course, instead of an appetizer. They told me it was possible, but since my family was unsure about the second course, which they didn't order, they asked if they could bring the calamari and my first course together. I agreed. First came the tagliatelle, then the cappelletti, and, after about ten minutes, my garganelli. In the meantime, however, the calamari had arrived... Ergo. If I hadn't had the calamari, I would have watched the others eat. I don't know about you, but I also go to restaurants to eat together (since I'm usually the one who gets up and takes care of the dishes). The fact that they bring one type of dish to each table first, e.g. Tagliatelle may be more functional for the kitchen, but as a customer, I don't really like it. Especially if I have to wait and possibly watch others eat. The dishes: tagliatelle and cappelletti were tasty. Garganelli with pesto, almonds, and shrimp (dish of the day): disjointed flavors: the basil overpowered everything, the almonds were under-chopped, and failed to add a "sweet" flavor to the dish, as did the shrimp. Calamari in a stew (appetizer of the day): tasty and spicy (just right for me). The desserts: Torta tenerina confirmed. Fiordilatte ice cream with black cherries: fresh and delicate. Zuppa inglese...it could be better. This time I'm not very satisfied. I hope for the next one.

The welcome was excellent and the food was very high quality. The only downside was that, given the beautiful evening, we would have preferred to dine outside, but there was no room.

I went last night with my family for the first time. The atmosphere was super cute (both inside and out), welcoming and clean (the bathrooms were impeccable). Very efficient and unobtrusive service. The food was delicious (the fried tripe especially!) and there was no long wait. Highly recommended!

Osteria Don Abbondio

27/04/2026: The location is perfect, right next to the Museo Civico San Domenico. We arrived at 1:40 PM feeling very hungry and had high expectations. The restaurant is spacious and we were seated immediately without a reservation. The young staff were energetic and welcoming. However, the timing was a major letdown. After finishing our appetizers, we had to wait 30 minutes for the main course. By the time it arrived, I wasn’t sure if the food was actually good or if I was just starving. Even with few customers left, the dessert took another 10+ minutes. Great atmosphere, but the kitchen pace needs serious improvement.
26/04/2026: We come to Don Abbondio when we're in Forlì for exhibitions at the San Domenico Museum. We love their traditional Romagna cuisine, reinterpreted with a modern twist. Seasonal menu.

Borgo Cotogni

17/05/2026: We stopped here today, on our way back from Rimini, with two other colleagues, and it was absolutely worth it! The staff were incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was very refined yet simple, and the food was simply excellent. The homemade tagliatelle with ragù were spectacular, the rabbit with potatoes was excellent, and the meringues reminded me of the ones my grandmother used to make, so it's definitely a good choice. But, ladies and gentlemen, the highlight is the Gorgonzola and quince gelato: the combination of flavors and overall taste are truly fantastic. Highly recommended, especially considering the very fair price for the excellent quality.
12/04/2026: We stumbled upon it by chance, but it was a real discovery. The service is friendly, and they make you feel at home. The food is excellent, homemade, and made with love. I highly recommend it, both for the food and the kindness of the staff.
