We spent a truly special day at Ristorante Elli.
The welcome was warm and sincere, the kind that makes you feel immediately at home. Lunch was excellent: carefully prepared dishes, authentic flavors, and a quality evident in every detail. There's a genuine atmosphere, where tradition and passion meet.
But what made this experience truly unique was the after-lunch experience: amidst smiles and conviviality, we had the pleasure of playing accordion and cello with dear Elio. A spontaneous moment, full of emotion, that transformed a simple lunch into a precious memory.
A wonderful day, filled with good food, music, and wonderful people.
A place truly worth returning to.

Ate last night, perfectly digested.
Well-maintained historic location, large parking lot, warm, enigmatic entrance.
I enter, the bar is friendly and feels like a club.
I ask for lunch.
I take advantage of letting my Russian chef wife order agnolini to introduce him to a certified agnolini. Together we order a potato tortellone, and I order a fillet steak with black truffle and potatoes, followed by dessert.
I eat, and a lovely surprise: here, normality is perfection.
While I'm making fun of the chef's embarrassment to the person serving me because he served me the fillet steak in a cast iron dish, which is usually used in Chinese cuisine (lupus infabula), the chef/owner himself comes out into the dining room; after I teased him that I thought he was Chinese, he very kindly explained to me the canonical choices of the agnolini, his history, and that of the restaurant.
His passion and expertise confirmed to me that it was possible that there the norm was to eat perfect dishes, but also not boring because as you eat them, every new bite tells you something new.

Weekday lunch, a spartan atmosphere with minimalist tableware, but tidy and quiet. Relaxed service, surprisingly high-quality food (à la carte). I ordered mushroom tartare (hand-cut and excellent meat), anolini in brodo (I emphasize: broth, not a side dish but a worthy co-star), and tagliatelle with mushrooms (and I got mushrooms with tagliatelle, perfectly cooked). Adequate portions, reasonable bill, and friendly service. We'll be back.
