Osteria del Melograno In Cremona

Had an “interesting” experience at this restaurant. I came a bit after noon on a Friday for lunch because the reviews were good and it seemed very authentic to the local cuisine. I was surprised when the lead server told me that they did have tables available but that I’d need to leave by 1pm because they had reservations. I figured that was enough time. But they’re taking their time getting my food to me. I ordered the marubini, which I just ate, but I’m waiting for my clam pasta. It’s 12:39pm and I don’t think I’ll be able to finish my food that quickly, especially because I’m on vacation and don’t want to be rushed. Meanwhile, I also see 3 open tables available, so I’m not sure what’s going on. I’ll add that this city is not very racially diverse, if that means anything. Also, since I clearly look like a tourist, they gave me a large glass bottle of expensive water instead of a small plastic bottle. Not sure if they just assume that Americans drink a ton of water at their meals or what. But I asked to switch to a small bottle since I hadn’t opened the large one.

Beautiful place, excellent service. Special compliments to the waitress with the red peach earrings, who was not only beautiful but also very talented and kind.

The atmosphere is truly intimate and welcoming. The staff is super friendly, they made us feel at ease right away, and I think that's fantastic. The quality of the food is very high. I found this restaurant truly satisfying. Congratulations to everyone.

Traditional Cremonese cuisine. Masterfully prepared dishes. Very reasonable prices. Reservations are practically mandatory, at least on weekends. We ate very well, spending €80,000 for two, a four-course menu, wine, water, and coffee. The staff were extremely kind and smiling, and the place was spotless and modern. A great experience, we'll definitely be back. Bravo!

Excellent restaurant in the heart of Cremona, ideally located if you're visiting Cremona. I visited during a visit to Cremona for the nougat festival. The restaurant isn't huge, but it's clean and tidy. Good value for money, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They serve excellent traditional Cremonese dishes. Highly recommended.
