Excellent food, slightly retro surreal environment with photos of 80's style characters but comfortable and welcoming, well-trained and friendly staff, shame about the owner who is intent on counting the money and not very friendly, a smile is recommended, you never know who you might have in front of you, not just the VIPs 😉, highly recommended for the excellent food

We came to this tavern on the advice of our guide from Verona. The place has the taste of the old tavern of the past. The menu offers traditional Veronese dishes and so I was able to try the bigoli with donkey ragù and the pappardelle with duck ragù (refined!). As second courses we tried the pastissada di caval and polenta (a stew) and the spadellata di caval (stripped horse meat with radicchio and parmesan). We preferred the second as in the stew there is a hint of cinnamon among the spices, which we don't like (personal taste). The desserts and wine are also excellent. The staff is fast and very kind (he deserved the tip!). The only flaw is the bathroom (tiny and with a toilet): a medieval reminiscence? Beyond this we highly recommend it! Ambience, menu, hospitality, quality of dishes... all excellent!

Very rustic place with an ancient feel in the center of Verona, the spaces are very small, it's almost difficult to get through, but very characteristic. We ate very well, the only flaw was the bread which felt old. For one course each, two desserts, water, two glasses of wine and coffee we paid around €27 each for 3 people, super reasonable prices for the centrality of the place. Very friendly service and friendly, approachable staff, recommended.

Stati a cena in compagnia, osteria che rispecchia il nome, con una qualità ottima, porzioni giuste e gustose, prezzo chiaro senza sorprese con una conveniente formula menu’..rientra nella lista delle osterie storiche di Verona.. personale gentile e professionale.. da provare assolutamente…

La più antica osteria di Verona. Posto caratteristico e cibo ottimo. Le varie pietanze con la polenta sono fantastiche, non saprei quale consigliare. Da ritornare assolutamente!!!
