We had a wonderful evening at this little hidden gem of a restaurant. We completely trusted the friendly owners' instincts when choosing the menu – and that was absolutely the right decision! Many small, lovingly prepared courses that we probably wouldn't have chosen ourselves from a menu; but that was precisely what made it so lovely! Everything harmonized perfectly and also complemented the non-alcoholic drinks perfectly. Highly recommended!

A gastronomic gem in the Marche region! Eva-Maria and Axel are wonderful hosts who run their cozy and lovingly decorated osteria in Cartoceto unpretentiously yet at the highest level. You feel welcome and at home from the very first moment. An aperitivo kicks off the culinary experience, followed by a pairing of either alcoholic or non-alcoholic wines – both tasted and highly recommended by Axel. A special highlight: the warm towels to refresh your hands – a small gesture with a big impact. It's best to choose a menu that Eva-Maria (alone in the kitchen – huge respect!) lovingly conjures up from regional and seasonal produce. You can sense her passion for cooking in each of her creations. Each dish is an explosion of flavor, a unique composition. While Eva-Maria works her magic in the kitchen with calm and dedication, even when the garden is full, Axel attends to the guests attentively, professionally, and with charming humor. We've already been there four times in 2025 – and each time we've been impressed by the creativity and consistency of the cuisine. The overall package is simply wonderful! An absolute recommendation – anyone in the Marche region must visit Osteria del Cardinale!

How do you describe this wonderful restaurant? Everything is perfect. Let's start with the welcome we received for our dogs. We were given a quiet spot with mats, water, and dog treats. Our meal was a dream. We started with a non-alcoholic cocktail. Beef tongue with a horseradish sauce. Delicious homemade tagliatelle. Ossebuco. Dessert with ice cream and popcorn, very original. We shared a wine pairing. Generous half glasses. Axel and Eva Maria provide a warm welcome. Spoken languages: English, Italian, German, and Dutch. We've been coming here for several years, and the quality remains consistently high. Highly recommended. But note: Il Cardinale is open from April to mid-November. Check the website. Curt and Lia.

We had the most romantic Italian night with a cozy and kind of magical atmosphere. This place is truly a hidden gem with fantastic food and amazing hosts. They just know how to create the perfect night. Can't recommend it enough xx
