Posto fantastico, con un vero professionista dell’accoglienza in sala che ti coccola dall’inizio alla fine. Ottima la scelta di puntare su vini del territorio, valorizzando le eccellenze locali. Da ammirare anche la proposta di degustare 4 tipologie di olio diverse messe a disposizione fin dal nostro arrivo a tavola. Cucina ottima e realizzata con amore per i prodotti e maestria nelle preparazioni. Se non si trovasse a troppi km (moltissimi) da casa mia sarebbe il mio ristorante ideale, per adesso lo metto nei luoghi del cuore. Bravissimi.

Dining at Osteria di Cardinale made us feel like we were in a romantic Hollywood movie of the golden age. The ambience and music were perfectly matched and nostalgic. Service was thoughtful and personal but also casual and friendly while remaining very professional and elegant. Axel attended to everyone like an old friend offering outstanding, local, artisanal wine varieties and switching between 4 languages. When my wife declined wine, he immediately offered a delicious non alcoholic option that was already at the ready. Eva-Maria’s food is a labor of love. Based on fresh, seasonal, local ingredients it feels like a beautiful concert expertly combining revisited traditional preparations with classics and modern notes. Overall it was an unforgettable evening which filled our hearts and souls with the same care and love that delighted our palates. Axel and Eva-Maria are truly remarkable professionals and human beings who chose Italy to be their home. With their knowledge, work and way of life they honor and elevate some of the most precious local traditions and ingredients that many Italians either forgot or were never fortunate enough to experience. It is a privilege to see the beauty of my own country through their eyes.

Host Axel met in June this year at the Italian Event in the Netherlands. During our holiday in Umbria we took a trip to Marche and stayed at the B&B Villa Cartoceto owned by Axel and Eva-Maria. What a beautiful environment! In the evening we had a delicious meal in Osteria del Cardinale, where Eva-Maria passionately prepares fantastic dishes with local products and Axel serves the dishes with just as much passion and serves a suitable wine from the Cartoceto area with each course. There is a lot of attention not only for us, but also for our dog Shadow. We had a special evening that is definitely worth repeating!

The Cardinale was recommended to us by our accommodation – the Corte Campioli. We liked it there so much that we came back a few days later. The small, very individual restaurant is run by Eva-Maria and her husband Axel, who are a perfect team and try to fulfill every guest's wishes 100 percent. With the necessary idealism and passion for high-quality cuisine, the two create a very special experience for the guest. If you are lucky enough to get one of the few seats, you can look forward to a very high-quality and varied dinner, sometimes even at a gourmet level. This is accompanied by Axel with perfect perfectionism by tasting excellent wine recommendations and explanations about the individual dishes and the region.

Returning from the Balì Museum, we looked for the nearest restaurant and by chance we came across this beautiful restaurant. The place is very well looked after in detail, small, intimate. The service very accurate. The menu follows the seasonality of the garden and everything is handmade (tagliatelle, ravioli, gnocchi, breadsticks, bread). The dishes are well prepared and tasty. As soon as you sit down they make you taste 4 different oils, a small welcome taste and a taste of prosecco. What more could you ask for? The music, the dishes, make you immerse yourself in the 50s. A lovely place we will return to. Super honest price for the quality it offers.
