Arriving in Cartoceto, during dinner time, our attention falls on tables prepared with care and elegance, in a small glimpse that together with the lights of the sunset, frame an evening that promises to be wonderfully pampered and exquisite. And so it was. In every part. Starting from the place, the food, the wine, and of course the owners, who made the difference. We will return to be pampered by you!

We had one of the most outstanding culinary experiences of all time with Eva-Maria and Axel! Right next to the historic main square, in a very idyllic alleyway, lies a temple of culinary delights of the highest quality! While Eva-Maria conjured up magic in the kitchen, Axel entertained us with exquisite courtesy and plenty of humor! He has been at home all over the world – but in Cartoceto, he has found his home in the Osteria del Cardinale, on a small farm, and with his animals. ABSOLUTELY ALL ingredients are homemade – and if absolutely necessary, then only regional and of the highest quality. We had the set menu – on Axel's recommendation – and Eva-Maria's food was exactly what we were looking for! Our dog was also well looked after. Cartoceto has become something of a "super-enjoyment spot"! A must-visit! ❤️😍🤩

Every week, on the closing day, we want to pamper ourselves in places that allow us to relax, eat well and chat with family. At Osteria del Cardinale we found a familiar and at the same time professional environment; but above all dishes that make you say "wow" from the first bite. Thanks to Eva Maria who prepared us dishes that were different from the usual, going beyond our "comfort zone" and to the combination of the dishes proposed by Axel, full-bodied and above all local wines, in which one sip leads to another.

A dream!! Eva Maria and Axel have created a place where you simply feel good! Great food and great local wines. More than just worth a visit.

What can I say, excellent experience. Well-kept and intimate place, as promised we were pampered in every sense. Mrs. Eva Maria's cuisine was surrounded by that hint of passion for the territory and the desire to make her guests appreciate genuine flavors with that touch of creativity that doesn't hurt. The host in the room was Mr. Axel who made us feel at ease, even when he proposed the cellar to us with the fateful "if you trust me, I can do it". We were fearful about this given our last experience in Cartoceto (another restaurant), but in the end there was a good choice of wine and an honest final bill with excellent value for money. We will definitely be your guests again :-)

We were there yesterday April 20th, Easter day... We booked after reading the many positive reviews... We could have imagined everything, but not to find such a clean and welcoming place, with a very kind and knowledgeable owner/waiter... He offered us a welcome sparkling wine, with cheese pizza and some bread to taste with four types of oil... Each dish he brought us, he carefully explained both the ingredients and the cooking method... Everything perfect up to the dessert, a delicious Tiramisu prepared at the table... To finish, the right bill for everything we ate... To be recommended... and to return with friends...
