We arrived without booking on the "advice" of the hotelier where we slept because in his restaurant he didn't have anything to prepare for us having "the warehouse empty" due to our lack of half board choice, but we can't stop thanking the chef for letting us meet two people kind, welcoming, available like Mrs. Lillina and her husband. With expert hands she prepared a delicious dinner that was not at all improvised but was the result of that ancient but much maligned sense of hospitality by chatty hosts and then that holding back with sympathy and grace that together with the the goodness of the dishes demands a return...because what more do you want? a Lucanian! was the answer, yes but authentic and genuine (and as good as Mrs. Lillina)

All tastes that don't justify the price. The first one wasn't even brought to us, due to problems related to water but without any discount on the final bill (30 euros each). The second course (cod with cruschi peppers) was always a little taste. The service was terrible, the waitress brought us coffees that we had never ordered, insisting in a not very polite tone on the fact that we had ordered them. From an osteria I would expect more generous portions or at least proportionate to the price.

Piccola trattoria del baccalà, cucinato da Lillina in svariati modi, e ormai da decenni, con il meritato successo. Un tempo, avendo vigna e uliveto, venivano proposte a tavola le loro produzioni, ora il vino, con uve comprate, lo fanno ancora (però così così il Montepulciano della casa portato a tavola), l'olio è del vicino. Lillina, un'oste di straordinaria gentilezza, usa il baccalà come fil rouge della sua cucina, che è buona, semplice, e di territorio. Menù fisso che può essere scomposto: noi ci siamo limitati agli antipasti che da soli valgono un pasto, anche perché le porzioni sono generose: si comincia con l'insalatina di baccalà&peperoni arrosto e la bruschetta di baccalà mantecato, seguono dei buonissimi involtini di melanzane con baccalà e melanzane&baccalà con marmellata di fichi, per finire con baccalà, patate&cipolle al forno e frittelle di baccalà&zucchine! A chiudere frutta fresca e una buona genziana. Conto medio, anche medio-basso considerando la materia prima, che è ovviamente il baccalà.

Piatti a base di baccalà cucinato da mani sapienti il tutto condito da ospitalità e gentilezza. Sembra di mangiare a casa della nonna. Tante materie prime sono di produzione propria. Eccellente!!

Charming little village. The road is a bit long and bumpy at times but once you arrive the magical world of cod will capture your senses. Sight and palate will be inebriating and fascinated by all those dishes that we can never enjoy at home or even in restaurants. All prepared with skill and simplicity by the lady. The price is satisfactory.
Definitely coming back to repeat a wonderful gastronomic experience

Delicious dishes in all forms of cod, always different.
Excellent staff.
The cook is an extraordinary person.
Fair price....all that's missing is the cod dessert.
Usually it's always salty, this isn't the third time I've been back and we will be back.
