Osteria D'Ambrosio - Da Giuliana In Bergamo

I've tried the most authentic place in Lombardy, and it's located in Bergamo! I'm talking about Trattoria d'Ambrosio da Giuliana, which has been serving food since 1943. We were welcomed by the legendary innkeeper Giuliana, who, with her smile and passion, led us to our table. Looking around, we saw that the place was filled with antique knick-knacks, period objects, writings, and statues from times gone by. But the real star of the show was the daily menu, and for a whopping 13 euros—I repeat, 13 euros—I ate: 🥬 Mixed salad appetizer to compose from the buffet as we pleased; 🥟 Casoncelli alla Bergamasca; 🍖 Roast beef with polenta; 🍷 A quarter liter of house wine; 🍶 A liter of drinking water. • The atmosphere was that of a true historic trattoria, where you sit close to other people and chat between meals. And to make matters worse, the waiters were very friendly and cheerful. All of this made this lunch so enjoyable that I'm sure I'll have to return to this ancient inn again.

Best restaurant I’ve ever been to. The host, Guiliana is one of a kind! She created a very very unique experience for everyone. I had the best food and the best time here. The food is absolutely amazing. Very unique flavors with fresh ingredients. LOVED the experience.

What a wonderful experience. A magical place, it's like entering a village full of memorabilia and objects, both local and otherwise... Giuliana is spectacular, as magical as her restaurant. The €25 menu, buffet style, includes a choice of first and second courses, wine, coffee, and dessert. I couldn't believe it when I paid... I'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

It was a wonderful experience...a different place from your usual restaurant, but everything was perfect: delicious food, friendly, fast, and above all attentive staff...well done...five stars aren't enough.

A truly unique place: eclectic, simple, nostalgic, authentic, and pleasant. The owner is a true character. Definitely worth a try. The price is very reasonable considering the quality of the food. The ice cream is sublime!
