Excellent food, well looked after place, good value for money

Small trattoria in the historic center of Ceglie, very welcoming. We were not particularly enthusiastic about the dishes: the starter was limited, the first courses were bland and the meat was tough and stringy. Mediocre value for money. Extremely friendly and professional staff.

There really are no words, excellent food, the starter is spectacular, all homemade and of excellent quality. Not to mention the friendliness of those who work inside and of Mr. Giuseppe, the last time we went the place was closing and they offered to wait for us, the best!

My husband and I had lunch at Giuseppe's last Saturday. A little hesitant because some of the reviews we read didn't give good reviews, but given that the B&B we had booked was a stone's throw away, we wanted to check. An entrée, 2 mixed appetizers, 2 first courses, a liter of wine, 2 desserts, 2 bitters with Cegliese biscuits and a bottle of water for only 58 euros in total. Homemade cooking and a warm welcome, a truly beautiful experience! I don't know what more you could want from a tavern! Gourmet cuisine? Then you can go to a starred chef, who will obviously ask you 58 euros just to sit at the table! Absolutely recommended!

This tavern was a tasteful discovery in Ceglie! Small, intimate place furnished with the flavor of tradition. We are greeted by the warmth of the owner and his staff, hospitable and friendly. Genuine, quality products make up the menu. We had the appetizer to start, ten specialties they tell us... from cured meats to cheeses, sweet and sour vegetables, meat carpaccio, roasted caciocavallo, breasts... a riot of flavours. Another house specialty is the donkey stew, I recommend it together with the homemade orecchiette with chop sauce. Honest and kind service, they advise the customer based on hunger, not to sell dishes. To conclude, a homemade tiramisu, Ceglie biscuits with homemade bitters. Last but not least in terms of quality is the house wine, spectacular! A truly pleasant experience with the flavor of Puglia!
