Every time I go to Venice I can't help but organize at least one dinner in this beautiful place that I've known for 30 years. I love it, as well as for the cuisine, because it is rather out of the tourist flow and because, for those who don't know, various scenes of the film "Courtesy for guests" were filmed there with the legendary Christopher Walken and Rupert Everett

Not bad, on average for Venetian places of this type.
The dishes we tried were good, even if a little too high in price.
We spent 70 euros for 2 first courses, half a liter of white wine and two coffees with a small plate of biscuits.
The area of Venice in which it is located is quite characteristic, outside the classic tourist itineraries.
Very kind and attentive waiter.

This restaurant is hidden in a quiet neighborhood. We visited it twice, in March. Hassle-free telephone reservation with the clear message that we had a table until 9:00 PM. Friendly welcome, service smooth but without much communication despite the quiet time. Attractive ambiance, and we understand that many Venetians also come here. Food (antipasti and secondi) well seasoned, portions not too big but enough for us. Classic dishes, fish nice and fresh, very extensive choice of wines and not remarkably pricey. After our second dinner, we were offered a grappa (or another drink) after paying. We would go back there again.

Peccato…l’ennesima riconferma di quella caratteristica che danneggia Venezia da sempre, ovvero usare i turisti come limoni da spremere. Esperienza scadente da ogni punto di vista. Piatti, servizio, conto… tutto all’insegna della mediocrità. Peccato, la Città meriterebbe decisamente un tipo di professionalità differente. Se siete in zona, molto molto meglio La Bifora.

We had a first course (gnocchi with artichokes and crab) and a second course (stewed cuttlefish with polenta). For the price we are absolutely not there. There were more pieces of polenta on the plate than cuttlefish. While the gnocchi were floury and tasted of nothing, you couldn't taste the crab and it was again a paltry portion. Two first courses and a water €44 seems really exaggerated to me as a price.

We love this place: historic, quality, excellent value for money. Recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy an evening away from vulgar tourism to eat local food served by trained and professional young men and women.

True Venetian tavern, not designed for tourists. The food is good, the typical environment is a little limited in terms of space (better to book). I gladly went back.

Ho trascorso una piacevole serata in questa osteria. L'ambiente è caratteristico e il personale, a parte una piccola eccezione, è stato molto gentile. I primi piatti erano davvero squisiti, ma l'aperitivo ai formaggi ci ha lasciato un po' delusi per la quantità. Il conto è stato in linea con la media della città, anche se un aperitivo più abbondante avrebbe bilanciato meglio l'esperienza.
