Tucked into Corte Contarina near Museo Correr, Osteria da Carla hides a modern interior behind its timeworn façade. Once a bàcaro run by Pietro Panizzolo in 1935, later Carla’s osteria, it’s now reinvented with a chic menu. A trio of ciccheti opened the meal – shrimp on ink polenta, ray in braised leaf, and duck with orange and pecorino – thoughtful but uneven (6.5/10). Black ink bigoli with tomato, bottarga and basil had bold Veneto flavours, though the pasta was stodgy (7/10). Baccalà alla Vicentina came with pea purée and crisp polenta taragna – inventive, if slightly unbalanced (7/10). A rare solid eatery steps away from Piazza San Marco.

I didn't want to go to a restaurant in a busy area, so I checked out the reviews and decided to try this place.
The moment the appetizer was served, I was instantly captivated by how beautifully presented it was!
It looked amazing!💠
The smoked salmon was also cut into large pieces, which I was very satisfied with.
The anchovy vongole pasta was just average!
I was so pleased with the appetizer that I set my expectations high.😂
I arrived right when it opened, so I was able to enjoy my meal in peace and quiet.
There were other customers there when I left, but since it's a small restaurant, it wasn't too noisy, which is great!

Honestly, the best restaurant we visited during our trip!
Extensive wine list, incredible menu, super varied. Our dishes were excellent, super elaborate, and very reasonably priced considering the quality!

Beautiful atmosphere, welcoming place, and pleasant service, but above all, delicious food served with extreme care. We thoroughly enjoyed it; we tried both the fish and meat, both of which were excellent.

On arrive en se disant que si proche de la place saint Marc cela ne peut être qu’un piège à touristes. Mais entre le lieu décoré avec goût et la cuisine excellente, on se révise bien vite.

Locale molto gradevole,ambiente rilassante. Servizio molto cortese e preparato, proposte di piatti stuzzicanti e decisamente ben eseguiti. Assolutamente da provare.
