Osteria Caneva In Milano

We like restaurants that are in areas frequented much more by locals than positioned to catch tourist footfall. And we tested this theory having booked a hotel out of the centre of Milan. We had arrived late and hungry and this was one of the few places still open. We entered the restaurant and immediately enjoyed the late evening buzz of the place and were warmly greeted. We chose pasta and seafood dishes and all delivered. We were too full to try dessert but some very appealing looking dessert choices to a party in a separate section of the restaurant. All in all an enjoyable start to a short visit to Milan.

Great food, very friendly staff. Good selection of wines. I would say it was a pleasant surprise.

Amazing seafood, please try the misto de mare the capesantes and the tagliatelle. So satisfied with the food, I will save it as one of my favorite restaurants.

Every time you sit down to enjoy the excellent lunch (I prefer lunch, in the evening I need to dine in a very modest way, so it is the lunch that I dedicate to the taste of the food) every time you also have the reconfirmation of the excellent taste of the refinements of the cuisine worthy of great praise!!! For me, it is the oasis par excellence of taste and conviviality, combined with the great respect I have for the host family, credited for the excellent work of maintaining the good name of the restaurant they run. Dad in the kitchen, great chef, son and daughter and wife in the dining room, great friendliness and professionalism. Fish not fresh but more!!!!! Really good raw fish! Above all fresh. Definitely a positive outcome for this first visit, varied menu, good food, portions and also prices obviously considering that we are in Milan where the prices of everything are constantly growing. The service and courtesy are also good. Classic but very pleasant atmosphere.
