Exactly a month ago, my partner and I went to eat at Caneva for her birthday. What can I say? Everything was delicious; the grilled fish and fried fish were superb. The desserts were fresh and of the highest quality. The service was excellent, as were the wines.

We had excellent fish (raw artichoke salad with shrimp and bottarga, which I dream about even at night). I also recommend the mixed grilled fish, a very generous portion and truly delicious. The place is small but full of character and a lovely atmosphere. The wait staff is extremely kind and helpful.

Disappointed with the food, but perhaps I chose poorly. The mixed raw appetizers are the most expensive, but they're a single, standard-sized plate of assorted raw fish plus two oysters on the side. It's not worth the expense. My companions were more satisfied. The atmosphere was intimate and pleasant. The service was unimpressive.

What can I say? Everything was magnificent, from the top-quality, expertly managed food to the welcoming staff and the refined atmosphere! One flaw, if I really had to find something wrong, was the lack of white myrtle.

We like restaurants that are in areas frequented much more by locals than positioned to catch tourist footfall. And we tested this theory having booked a hotel out of the centre of Milan. We had arrived late and hungry and this was one of the few places still open. We entered the restaurant and immediately enjoyed the late evening buzz of the place and were warmly greeted. We chose pasta and seafood dishes and all delivered. We were too full to try dessert but some very appealing looking dessert choices to a party in a separate section of the restaurant. All in all an enjoyable start to a short visit to Milan.

Yes. Very traditional. Seafood cuisine with a Sardinian flair. The atmosphere is equally traditional. Attentive service and very polite service. Fresh, well-cooked fish.

04/09/2025: Went here last minute for food the day before we left for home. Best meal of the entire trip, it’s a pity we didn’t find it earlier. Service was exceptional, food exceptional and environment exceptional. Can’t recommend it enough. Try the grilled fish!
