Return to the flavors and aromas of Sardinia! Excellent dinner: Catalan-style lobster tails, culorgiones, carasau bread, and seadas! Rosé wine, again from Sardinia! We'll be back.

I really liked the local vibe, the food was excellent, and there were plenty of treats: snacks, liqueurs, and fruit. The waiter, Miki, was prompt and efficient. It's a perfect place for any occasion! We had the vitello tonato, grilled seafood, and a couple of other dishes. The selection was good, mostly seafood.

Opened in 1992 by Franco Pitzalis, Osteria Caneva has been offering authentic Sardinian cuisine in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere for decades. The atmosphere is rustic and refined, intimate yet welcoming. The interior features a small main dining room with a smaller room at the back. It's a "friendly, simple, and romantic" place. Recommended cuisine and dishes: Fresh fish, generous appetizers, raw seafood, risottos, spaghetti with squid and bottarga, Sardinian-style culurgionis, and tuna fillets. Favorite dishes include scallops au gratin, mixed fish, tagliata, sea bream with Tropea onions, and Sardinian desserts like seadas. The staff is very courteous, familiar, and attentive. "DOC" management, a warm welcome, and prompt and attentive service. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Osteria Caneva has been my favorite place for years now. The place isn't very big, and this also makes it warm and welcoming... except when I call and they tell me they're full 😔 When I go to dinner at Caneva, I'm satisfied; the waiters are very attentive to their customers. Exactly a month ago, my partner and I went to eat at Caneva for her birthday. What can I say? Everything was delicious; the grilled fish and fried fish were superb. The desserts were fresh and of the highest quality. The service was excellent, as were the wines.

Fabulous food, kindness and superior professionalism

We had excellent fish (raw artichoke salad with shrimp and bottarga, which I dream about even at night). I also recommend the mixed grilled fish, a very generous portion and truly delicious. The place is small but full of character and a lovely atmosphere. The wait staff is extremely kind and helpful.

We like restaurants that are in areas frequented much more by locals than positioned to catch tourist footfall. And we tested this theory having booked a hotel out of the centre of Milan. We had arrived late and hungry and this was one of the few places still open. We entered the restaurant and immediately enjoyed the late evening buzz of the place and were warmly greeted. We chose pasta and seafood dishes and all delivered. We were too full to try dessert but some very appealing looking dessert choices to a party in a separate section of the restaurant. All in all an enjoyable start to a short visit to Milan.
