Extremely average food and ambiance for how expensive this is. Cover charge was 3 euros pp.

We loved it, even though they didn't warn us that we ordered too much food. Considering we eat a lot, we rolled out. If we had jumped in the river, we'd have floated back to the hotel. We ate dinner quickly, arriving at 9:30 and leaving at 11:00, so we felt a little rushed to leave. Even so, everything was delicious and we highly recommend it! We highly recommend the pasta carbonara and the extras. Thank you (especially to our waitress, who was very friendly and attentive) and good luck!

Great for a quick bite to eat. The food is also great.

The service and wine were excellent. I didn't like the lamb chops, and there was too much cheese in the pasta, making it salty and heavy.

Excellent value for money...always a guarantee

On our first night in Milan, we made reservations for our group of nine at Ai Balestrari sul Naviglio Pavese through The Fork app, which gave us a 20% discount on the 'a la carte' menu. Upon entering, we were immediately struck by the restaurant's warm tones and welcoming ambiance. The festive Roman spirit was evident in every detail, making us feel right at home. From what I can see, there were more locals than tourist dining in, which is a good sign. Despite a slight language barrier--as we were trying our best with Italian--the staff was incredibly accommodating. Being so thirsty from our walk, we thought we ordered one cup of water for each person. The staff sweetly misunderstood and brought a full large bottle of water for each of person (total of 9 bottles)! We found it amusing and were happy to have the extra hydration. When our food arrived, there was a moment of complete silence as our large group was too busy devouring the delicious traditional Roman dishes. From pasta to bruschetta and drinks every option was incredible. We had a lot of tiramisu throughout our trip, but I have to say, Ai Balestrari's was the best! It was the perfect end to a long day, and Ai Balestrari sul Naviglio Pavese certainly did not disappoint.

This Roman osteria on the Naviglio Pavese was a lovely surprise. We had a wonderful time. Good food, generous portions, friendly and attentive service, everything clean, and a refreshing atmosphere. We chose to eat outside, but the place is definitely more picturesque inside. A mix of delicious bruschetta, a superb cacio e pepe, a fabulous gricia, and to finish, an amaro imperiale and a limoncello. We truly had a wonderful time. The bill was very fair for both the quality and quantity. We'll definitely be back; I already have a thousand other things to try!

Delicious food. Acceptable prices. Very nice decor. I really enjoyed it—and I had a solid, good meal.

I came for a bachelorette party, and the rest of the group and I had a wonderful time: the food was delicious and plentiful, so much so that we had to take home the leftovers. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and very kind, and they contributed greatly to the enjoyment of the experience. Highly recommended.
