sense of belonging to one's land!!! This can be seen from the raw materials with which the various dishes are prepared!!! Respect for the Irpinian culinary tradition that you can savor here and of the highest quality present throughout the menu. There is a warm, welcoming atmosphere and at the same time very, very humble like the people of these parts. Spectacular location in one of the most beautiful villages in the Caudina valley. Very good quality/price ratio. Highly recommended!!!

Locale grazioso su due piani forse un po' angusto. Ottimo il tagliere dei salumi, in particolare prosciutto crudo e mortadella, buoni gli altri antipasti (purè con funghi porcini, trippa con ceci, parmigiana di melanzane, insalata di rinforzo con baccalà). I due primi, pasta e patate e paccheri con pomodorini, buoni senza particolare menzione. Le carni alla brace indubbiamente squisite. Castagne, buon dolce e grappa concludono la felice esperienza. Servizio simpatico ed efficiente, conto onesto. Solo un appunto critico: il bagno è privo di chiusura interna.

I finally managed to book this tavern on a Sunday.
We were very satisfied with the welcome of the staff, with their attention and courtesy shown to us.
The place is nice especially on the ground floor with the fireplace lit, the upper floor would deserve some remodeling in the "old farmhouse" style, now it looks a bit like the grandparents' dining room..., not too comfortable chairs with straight backs... .
However, the food is excellent, carefully prepared and of good quality
On Sundays I have a fixed menu which ranges from a platter of cold cuts and cheeses to assorted hot appetizers, two generous tastings of first courses,
applause goes to the cut of meat which is truly excellent, desserts to be seen again...
Wine, water, coffee and spirits included.
We had a great time, and the value for money is more than fair.
We will certainly return in the evening to order "a la carte", certainly favoring the meat first.

We came with bicycles from the island of Ischia and, after a long and pleasant ride, on the advice of a friend of ours from the area we went to this place. We really enjoyed the amatriciana and the large starter; the environment is very pleasant and seems to be in a small hamlet; the staff were friendly and helpful.
In summary I would recommend the place and we will probably come another time.

One thing that is right is that, especially on Sundays, you have a fixed menu lunch, which believe me is super abundant, two tastings of first courses and grilled meat for the second course, side dishes, dessert, coffee and bitters for €35 per person.
Eat abundantly, recommend to friends.
Today we went for lunch again but: an appetizer to forget, a cured meat that had no flavour, a raw ham, I think national, also flavourless, the pieces of aged cheese about 1/3 of what they used to be.
There are 2 first courses, a Genoese one where both the meat and the sauce were made with phantom onions, the bucatini with ragù had no flavor but the sensation that it was pasta made yesterday and reheated today, masked by a splash of firmaggio and provola plenty to tie everything together. Furthermore, portions are 50% smaller than before
The meat was inedible, rare but it couldn't be chewing gum, I don't think there was any pork, the flavor of those few bites I tasted was the same, without flavour.
The side dishes, very few salads and baked potatoes, the chestnuts were of an indefinite size but very small and difficult to peel, also without flavour, the desserts were a biscuit I think industrially produced filled with chocolate, luckily this had flavour, another small piece the dessert was a cake filled with ricotta, I discreet.
In the starters they provided an aubergine parmigiana which was not, a slice of aubergine drowned in sauce and cheese so bad that the palate refused to eat it, accompanied by a puree of potatoes and mushrooms, no comment.
In the end, a month ago they decided to bring the cost of lunch to €40 per person, today for what we ate, in terms of taste and quantity, I wouldn't have given them more than €25, place to be cancelled, also because I'm employed to get there more than an hour. Goodbye
