Excellent Bolognese cuisine and good selection of wines; medium-high prices as everywhere now! Recommended

A nice morning walk around Bologna can only end with lunch in this tavern. The tavern is very small and cute. I need to see as few people as possible when it's my day off and Monday is the best day for us to go out for lunch. Two of us ordered a Bolognese cutlet and three side dishes. We shared the generous cutlet and to accompany it we took three delicious side dishes. Sauteed artichokes, chicory and excellent caponata. All accompanied by a soft focaccia. The prices are honest and the staff is friendly and helpful. Simplicity is their strong point combined with good cuisine. We will be back soon. Francesco and Anna

Tornato in questo locale -- già apprezzato a suo tempo -- dopo alcuni anni, merita decisamente una nuova recensione ancor più positiva. Posizione centralissima; sediamo nella sala seminterrata, accogliente (nonostante alcune luci troppo sparate, e i troppi tavoli che ostacolano i tavoli; inoltre, sul nostro tavoli i bicchieri per l'acqua di plastica arancione risultavano un po' improbabili, sia pure in ristorante d'ambiente informale). Cucina a base tradizionale bolognese con alcune interessanti ma rispettose reinterpretazioni. La qualità di tutto ciò che abbiamo ordinato era eccellente, e le porzioni abbondanti. In una città che si trasforma sempre più in un taglierificio scriteriato, è una soddisfazione vedere dei taglieri composti con gusto e con intelligenza (nota di merito per i sottolii). Tra gli antipasti, si segnala anche l'ampio ventaglio di usi creativi della crescentina fritta: sublimi gli involtini di crescentina ripieni di mortadella. Passando ai secondi, nulla da eccepire né sullo stracotto al barolo con polenta (saporito, tenero, generoso, da riscaldare anche il cuore più freddo o lo stomaco più rattrappito) né sulla cotoletta alla crema di parmigiano e tartufo. E anche in un semplice contorno, come i carciofi con patate, brilla la qualità di questa cucina. Non restava, purtroppo, tempo (né spazio gastrico) per esplorare la carta dei dolci, che alla lettura si mostra però assai ricca e promettente. Interessante la carta dei vini, anche se alcune bottiglie risultavano assenti sono comunque state sostituite più che dignitosamente. Servizio garbato, disponibile e simpatico, purtroppo un po' in affanno dato che lo staff sembrava numericamente sottodimensionato rispetto al pienone, col risultato che i tempi per ordinare si sono dilatati. Conto decisamente proporzionato, e il caffè ci viene gentilmente offerto. Torneremo ancora, e stavolta senza far passare tanto tempo.

Abbiamo cenato la sera di Capodanno e nonostante l'affollamento, abbiamo mangiato benissimo. I tortellini in brodo sono sublimi, così come il brasato con la polenta. Vera atmosfera da osteria, personale gentile, cordiale, attento ed efficente. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo
