Osteria Barbagianni In Cinisello balsamo

Well-known place, good food, efficient and courteous staff.

I happened upon this place by chance for a lunch break. The place is large and air conditioned (but not excessively, perfect temperature in my opinion). I think it used to be a classic workers' club and the spirit of the place remains the same... simple environment with very courteous and welcoming staff! The food is simple but carefully prepared and with good raw materials (the cutlet, for example, was authentic breaded and fried meat and not one of those frozen horrors that are often served in places for lunch break). I still think the price of the full menu (15€ with water and coffee) is a bit high, but it's a common trend now and in any case the food was good and almost certainly if I were to find myself in the area I would return.

The quality of the food and the environment are 5 stars. A little less for the service, for a few too many oversights. The management after COVID is very careful, with two lunch shifts and a fixed menu. Unfortunately, however, I happened to go to the second shift and often find the dishes on the menu, even changed occasionally, finished. For example, an octopus and potato salad, for which they had run out of octopus replacing it with squid, a green salad with some squid arrived. Asked for potatoes, they never arrived. The same day, red rice salad, finished at 1:30 pm. It's fine to cook less so as not to throw away at the end of the shift, but then they should already prepare with a reserve menu. They would make a better impression.

Welcoming place/farmhouse, pleasant atmosphere, for a moment it makes you forget you are in the city, there were 6 of us at dinner time, we ate well even if they do more tapas and not a real classic menu with first/second course but we were still satisfied, the waiter was friendly and smiling. The final cost is a little higher than average. I recommend trying it, it is still worth stopping!

We arrived at 1:15 p.m. and were greeted by a very smiling, professional person who explained the menu to us in French. The meal was very affordable and very good. We recommend this restaurant.
