Osteria Armanda 1926 In Firenze

Disclaimer: I don’t write a lot of reviews because most restaurants aren’t worth the time and the reviews seem forced and un-genuine, but with Osteria Cancello dei Macci, it’s worth every minute taken to write how phenomenal the staff, chef and food was so that others can have such an amazing experience. I’d give this restaurant 10 out of 5 stars if possible!! Short and sweet review: Michelin Star quality without the large price tag (having eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants, pulling the card out at the end always hurts- but not here), with a homestyle service where you actually feel appreciated and welcomed. Longer more detailed review: Skip the Michelin Star prices and enjoy great value with exceptional service and food from a Michelin Star chef’s very own restaurant! Despite being booked at every table (because yes, it is that good), they found a way to get us in and did so with a smile. The maître d and staff were so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about their menu and the Head Chef/Owner even came out to talk with us for a few minutes which was amazing, getting to learn about his path from working at world renowned restaurants to opening his own with those same practices and attention to detail was incredibly insightful. Everyone showed true appreciation for all of their guests. The drinks were phenomenal, our side dish (we got the baked potatoes with rosemary) was melt in your mouth soft but with a crispy exterior (something in my decades of cooking I have yet to master), but, the star of the show was the Florentine Steak. It honestly was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, I’m still thinking about how good it was 24 hours later! Thank you for an exceptional experience all around, I hope I can come back someday just to experience it all again!

Excellent and friendly service. Unusual in a very touristy city. The meat was cooked rare and very tender. Highly recommended.

Very good! We had a cheese starter and the well spoken rib eye steak which was juicy and tasty. Red wine is a must! And for the dessert we had a tiramisu. Yummy!😋 Lory is the best, so friendly and helpful🤗

Lori and Nelson treated us wonderfully. Excellent wine, delicate tagliatelle with wild boar, delicious pappa al pomodoro. The deconstructed cheesecake was delicious, and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

What an amazing experience! The waiter was so nice! He went an extra mile to find us a place and we ended up having a private dinner in their wine cave! The burrata was amazing, as was the pana cotta. But everything was great! The food is great, service as well, and the ambiance amazing! Definitely recommend! Plus, you get to visit a part of Florence that is not so tourist-y, which is always interesting!

It's very close to where I stayed when I first came to Firenze with my university classmates. I just wandered around and picked a random place to eat. It was a great value for money and the steak was delicious! I think it was even better than the one next to the Central Market!

The place is beautiful, the hostess is incredibly friendly and knows her job well, and the food is excellent. Overall, I recommend going for a meal.
