Osteria Al Tajer In Venezia

Typical Venetian tavern, small but very welcoming. Inside there is the classic wall counter for eating, but it is very characteristic. I was there for dinner: the dishes were tasty and plentiful, the prices were honest for the portions offered. Good choice of wines and cicchetti, all obviously homemade. The staff is kind and affable, making you feel at home. Advised!

Wonderful little place with not a lot of seating. But totally worth a lunch stop! Delicious Chingiale pasta!!

Excellent restaurant. The pasta I had was delicious, I've eaten at several places in Venice and this was by far the best. There are lots of expensive tourist traps in this city and so it's nice to have found a genuinely great place. It's quite small so I can imagine it might get full on busy days. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The best place to eat in the whole area. Exceptional food quality, very friendly staff and quiet atmosphere away from the tourist noise.

Delicious Cicchetti and succulent pasta, pleasant and understanding waitress, perfect wine, all not expensive at all. I recommend the much less sweet Select spritz of the classic Aperol.

We found this restaurant by accident and we probably had the best food during our entire Italy trip. The place is a little small and only has some bar chairs to sit on the wide. They sell different cicchetti veneziani, and a lot of people come only to have a small snack and a drink while standing up. However they also have a real menu. We tried the pappardelle with pesto and spaghetti with shrimps and eggplant sauce and both were delicious. We couldn't miss to also try some of the cicchetti and the polpette. Everything was excellent. I also really loved the atmosphere. It's a little away from the tourist routes and most of the clients were locals drinking their wine or best and having a small snack while socialising. The owner was exceptional friendly and welcoming. At the end I also tried their Negroni and even they were out of ice it was really good. Thanks for this evening, I hope we can be back some day. If you are looking for an authentic and special place in Venezia, this is a must.

Our apartment is about 50m from here and we arrived today from Florence. We'd had a good wander around Cannaregio and decided to try here as it was so close. No regrets at all. I had tagliatelle with ragu Bolognaise, partner had gnocchi with butter, sage and smoked cheese. We switched plates half way through. Both dishes were stunning. Everything you need and nothing you don't need from a plate of pasta/gnocchi and sauce. We also had a half litre of house red. Waitress told us it was Cabernet, v smooth, v drinkable, and I'm more of a rose girl myself. With a bottle of fizzy water total bill was €42. I would happily eat there again. The only seating inside is up on stools at a bench. We sat outside on chairs at a table. Service was perfect, the lady asked us if we wanted to move inside when it was threatening to rain, we're from England so a few raindrops didn't bother us, they have umbrellas protecting the tables anyway.
