The place isn't inviting at all, and I found it depressing... after a less than pleasant initial impression, I have to say I ate REALLY WELL! The price is a bit high, considering the place is a bit too basic and in a far-from-central area. I'd recommend revisiting the furnishings and lighting, and the place would certainly benefit from it, as the eye also wants its share.

Absolutely fantastic food, a quirky cook straight out of a comic strip, and a very nice and attentive waiter.
However, the place has the charm of an underground parking garage.
Nevertheless: Definitely go there and eat delicious food!
Tip: The wines are all rubbish; better to drink Heineken.

A pearl near Grosseto!
Ezio is an exquisite host, as are the dishes at Oste Scuro.
Highly selected raw materials; many of which are Slow Food presidiums and zero-mile. Ezio relies on numerous small local suppliers who adorn the menu with rare and seasonal first fruits.
Cuisine guided with love by a skilled hand that orchestrates material and taste with class, elegance and homage to Tuscan tradition. In some dishes you will also find an exuberant Piedmontese inflection.
Unmissable are the giardiniera, the ziti with tuna, the rabbit with purée and the delicious chocolates to be enjoyed strictly paired with rum!
A special mention goes to the selection of wines of which Ezio is the creator and custodian. Always turn to him for advice, you will not be disappointed!
The environment is welcoming with a brutalist touch given by the spartan exteriors that must not intimidate you and a dominant canary yellow in the furnishings... two candles and as many wooden tables would close the circle of an extraordinary experience in this jewel of the Maremma.

Unexpected little restaurant in a peripheral area in the Maremma Grossetana. The quality of the food offered is excellent. For wine lovers the cellar is very well stocked. The staid chef-waiter-owner is friendly and kind. The times are slow. Fair price.

Eating at Oste Scuro is an experience, certainly the winning points of this restaurant are the absolutely fine quality of the products and the great experience of the owner who calmly talks about every single dish in order to make the customer deeply understand how much passion and care is behind it. The environment is welcoming and very peaceful. Another plus point is the wide selection of obviously quality wines. “Last but not least” the desserts, worth trying.

Mangiare all’Oste Scuro è un’esperienza, sicuramente i punti vincenti di questo ristorante sono la qualità assolutamente pregiata dei prodotti e la grande esperienza del proprietario che con calma parla di ogni singolo piatto in modo da far comprendere profondamente al cliente quanta passione e cura ci sia dietro. L’ambiente è accogliente e molto tranquillo. Altro punto s favore è l’ampia selezione di vini, ovviamente di qualità. “Dulcis in fundo” i dolci, da provare.

L'osteria sembra quasi nascondersi tra abitazioni private e qualche capannone. Ma non lasciatevi ingannare!! Una volta all'interno l'accoglienza calorosa di Ezio il titolare , ed in particolar modo i suoi piatti vi faranno dimenticare immediatamente la prima impressione che avete avuto .
Piatti preparati con prodotti stagionali e rigorosamente territoriali, presentati in modo professionale ed accattivante.
Si puo iniziare da salumi accompagnati da una ottima giardiniera fatta in casa. A seguire pici con fonduta di pecorino e tartufo. Ottime le polpettine di cinta su letto di purè di patate con asparagi selvatici a km. zero. Trippa alla maremmana con contorno di fagioli piattellini. Per terminare oltre a dolci fatti in casa una ulteriore chicca: la lista di diversi tipi di caffè. Varia e ricca la lista dei vini con buona scelta di etichette del territorio
