Ostaria Da Moro In Venezia

If you're reading this review, it's because you want to get off the beaten path—but not too far—from Venice's hyper-touristy circuit, and you'll be glad you did if you cross over to Giudecca Island. There you'll find a less crowded, less commercialized Venice, though don't expect a revelation. If you do go there, pop into Osteria da Moro, say hello at the bar in any language other than English (Italian is best, remember you're in Italy), and order a coffee or a macchiato. They'll gladly serve you, and you can enjoy it standing up and continue your walk, or go sit at one of the tables overlooking the lagoon. With that view of Venice, you'll be very happy. As I said, the coffee is good, the view unbeatable, and the service and prices more than fair. It all depends on your attitude. Autumn Boreal 2025

We were there in November; it was very small, cozy, and authentic.

Unfortunately, about a third of the fish was undercooked, and the potatoes were either unseasoned or barely seasoned. The rest of the food was just okay at best. There was little attention to detail and very little care with the seasoning! It's a shame, we expected more! The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. The location and ambiance are, of course, unbeatable, especially at sunset! Ideally, order a glass of wine and enjoy the view, and then eat somewhere else :)

Four of us ate and not one of us thought the meal was good. I had a zuppa di pesce and it was NOT good at all. I had some clams, mussels, two unpeeled whole shrimp, and a tough little piece of calamari. No fish, no scallops, no octopus, and no lobster! The sauce had good flavor, but it was a pathetically small portion for 20Euros. We were all shocked by the experience because of high ratings for this place. I don't know if they ate at the same restaurant.
