Drawn by the atmosphere and the fixed-price menu, we had lunch as a couple at this restaurant, which features numerous vintage furnishings and pleasant background music, contrasting with the brusque and unwelcoming manner of the sole person serving the table: certain professions require a certain level of skill, and in this case, it's lacking.
The food, in terms of quantity and quality, is in line with the prices, to which you add €2.50 for table service per person and €2 for bread (€2 for a 0.5-liter plastic bottle of water). It wouldn't take much to make a stop for a meal much more pleasant and appealing.

We had lunch on a weekday following the menu of the day proposed by the structure... Particular place and suitable for the context of a town like Bergamo Alta; fast but careless, approximate and almost anxiolytic service; good food, well cooked but not cheap.

I'm very hesitant about how to rate this restaurant because it was a somewhat strange experience. We ate well: pizzoccheri and gnocchi were well-cooked, hot, and average; everything was written on the menu, and the prices were definitely fair (it's true, if you want bread or parmesan cheese you have to pay more, but in other restaurants you can forget about €12 a plate). The service was incredibly fast (we must have waited about 10 minutes after ordering). The strange thing, however, was watching a very nervous waitress (she was alone) running around yelling, "Wait, be patient!" and turning people away simply because there was a wait when no one—I repeat, no one—pressured her in any way. Certain things should be said with a smile on your face, without making customers uncomfortable. I think she did it all on her own, and unfortunately, she partially ruined what would have been an absolutely pleasant experience for my boyfriend and I. In short, the relationship with the public should be reviewed a bit because at a certain point, even though we were treated well, we just wanted to leave, and I think that was also the case for those who were in the restaurant at the time.

We came to Bergamo from Verona for a day trip.
Walking along the streets of the upper city we found this place outside the chaos of the city, after a few moments of waiting we managed to get a table for 4.
We took the meat menu, artisan Casoncelli with stracotto sauce and Stracotto with Polenta, all accompanied by the house red wine.
We liked the dishes, simple and good, with a homemade flavour.
The restaurant is comfortable, personalized with many objects that recall the passions of the owner and chef of the restaurant, Stefano, an exquisite person.
I recommend having patience as the place does not reserve tables and the room is managed by a single person who takes care of everything and everyone, super overloaded but available and always on point.

Place off the main street, but well signposted.
We came across this restaurant by chance, during a trip with friends, and I must say that it was a wonderful discovery, cuisine with homely flavors and a traditional location.
We took the house menu with handmade casoncelli and stracotto with polenta. Price more than fair for the good quality of the cuisine.
We were lucky enough to chat with chef Stefano, a person of great culture and passion.
We just recommend a little patience as there is only one person in the room who follows the orders and dishes.
