Odio il brodo In Trieste

The service and food were excellent, an experience definitely worth doing. The restaurant inside is wonderful, colorful and full of decorations that make you smile.

We went to "Odio il brodo" this Thursday for dinner with friends. The atmosphere is truly charming and well-kept, as is the website, and the staff was welcoming and kind. Unfortunately, however, the dining experience didn't live up to expectations. We ordered the Eggplant Meatballs, three sandwiches (Crunchy to Lick, Panino del giorno, and Zero Carattere), and shared a Cioco panna cotta. Unfortunately, we encountered several issues: the meatballs had an unpleasant aftertaste, and both the bread and the vegetables inside the sandwiches had an unusual odor, as if they had absorbed other flavors (we had the same impression with the dessert). Furthermore, the portions seemed rather small for the price. It's a shame, because the owner's enthusiasm is evident, but the quality of the food doesn't reflect the care taken in the ambiance. Having read the responses to other reviews, I'd like to offer some heartfelt advice: a more open and less defensive approach to constructive criticism would greatly help the restaurant grow and improve its image. I hope this is just an isolated incident, but for now, I don't think we'll return or recommend the place. I hope the owner takes this feedback to heart and finds the right level of self-awareness to enhance his work.

Very good and elegant food, friendly staff, too small space.

We went for dinner. The place is small and the tables are very close together, so we were all packed in. The sandwich was good, but we expected some fries on the side. The cleanliness could be better. The service, however, was excellent: fast and friendly.

Excellent dinner, delicious and unique sandwiches! We had the maritozzi, the sandwich of the month, and believe me, they were truly delicious: perfectly crispy asparagus, dry and tender fried chicken, and a truly exquisite sauce that contrasted a bit with the sweetness of the sandwich, but I assure you, I've never tasted a better "litigio"! The pop chickens are small bites of fried chicken with a side of skin-on French fries, which were dipped in their parsley sauce and quickly devoured. We'll definitely be back, also thanks to the kindness of the owner, who welcomed us in a truly wonderful way even though we hadn't booked. Hats off!

Excellent restaurant in the center of Trieste where chicken reigns supreme. Indeed, the dishes offered include chicken cooked in various ways, presented in a creative and, above all, tasty way. Highly recommended. The restaurant is beautiful and colorful.

Eleven of us arrived at 12:30 without warning, not even a call. Moreover, it seemed like a joke, with a celiac and a vegetarian. They did everything they could to 1) seat us, moving the tables into various configurations to seat everyone optimally. 2) feed everyone, including the vegetarian with the Beyond Meet and the celiac, by having the chef arrive and telling him, "You choose what you want, I'll make sure you can eat it." 3) make sure we were on time; we had an hour and a half, so we couldn't put it off. Furthermore, the food was delicious, reasonably priced for the main courses; the appetizers were perhaps a little pricey, but otherwise, the taste was impeccable. The waitress was extremely kind and welcoming at all times. Highly recommended.

I found the sandwich a little too greasy. The meat was good. Not so much the type of bread, the kind you find at a mac and cheese shop.

First time, booked for two people on February 14th. I've been wanting to come for a long time. The place is really cute, not big but very comfortable. The service is kind and top-notch, and the owner (I think he was the owner 🤣) is particularly nice! 🤣✨ The food was really good and tasty (I didn't expect it to be that good!!)! Several interesting choices, for those who want something unique and different! Absolutely recommended to everyone! It's hard to be dissatisfied when the overall service is so excellent!!! 😊✨
