The host is very friendly and engaging, the staff is precise and attentive, and the cleanliness is impeccable. The food is simple and authentic, just like our grandmothers used to make. A unique place. Highly recommended.

Entering Il Vicolo dell’Allegria is like stepping back in time and finding yourself in our grandmothers' house. We kids came from seven different places—between Calabria, Marche, Campania, and Basilicata—and yet we all immediately recognized that familiar atmosphere of old telephones, furniture from another era, old-fashioned sweets, and assorted tableware: no two glasses the same, no two plates identical, only authentic, well-worn pieces with a retro charm. A decor that doesn't imitate: it tells the story. Moving on to the food, the experience was equally positive. For €28 each, we ate so much and so well that we couldn't finish it all, despite our cravings. All the dishes were thoughtfully prepared and flavorful: rich appetizers with cured meats and cheeses paired with pears, apples, and olives, tasty main courses, and a truly surprising cotoletta alla Battipaglia: large, flavorful, and perfect in its simplicity. Even the local liqueurs offered at the end rounded off the experience pleasantly. There was a small mix-up with the reservation at first—a delay of about half an hour—but the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the unique atmosphere of the restaurant made everything more than forgiven. We left satisfied and smiling, with that rare feeling of having eaten as well as at home, but with something extra: the taste of shared memories.

I challenge anyone to go to this wonderful tavern, filled with lovely people and extraordinary food, and not develop an addiction.
