Ate beef cheeks and pork fillet... tasted very tasty! But the portion is too small for the price... unfortunately!

the veal tartare with excellent tuna sauce, the complete polenta with mushrooms and sausage lacked salt. The cheek was excellent, very tender. A little disappointed by the pasta with deer ragu, the decisive factor was the choice of pasta which did not absorb the sauce well (it also lacked salt) and was slightly overcooked for my tastes. They offered us a taste from the kitchen which was very good and I would also add that the butter served at the beginning of the meal was uniquely delicate, very good. The service was great.

The waiter was great and made us feel welcomed as we enjoyed our meals. The deer filet and cigaro were delicious!

I came across this restaurant during a trip out of town with my family. Intrigued, we decided to stop for a quick meal We ate: - venison fillet - surprise from the forest Two dishes well served (I attach photos) and very tasty. They definitely met our expectations. The dessert is an explosion of flavors and balanced in the right way. The fillet is tender, tasty, rich in flavours. A real explosion for the palate. Especially for those who have never tasted these flavors before. The service was friendly and fast, we didn't wait long and the waiters met our needs. They were also available in helping us choose the dishes Advised? Absolutely yes!

Io e mia moglie abbiamo deciso di provare il ristorante Nives consultando TripAdvisor. Devo dire che la scelta è stata più che azzeccata. Un bellissimo ambiente, accogliente ed elegante. Ancora più sorprendente l’accoglienza del personale: tutti molto gentili e professionali. I piatti presentati benissimo e di qualità superiore: uno dei migliori antipasti che io abbia mai mangiato, senza togliere nulla ai successivi piatti, anch’essi molto gustosi e curati. Lo consiglio vivamente.

We really liked the fitness salad and jerky (kaiserschmarren). The place is cozy and stylishly furnished in a modern way. Very clean premises (including toilets). Fast, funny, pleasant service.

27/08/2024: I discovered Osteria Da Checco my first night in The Dolomites and was I ever happy because it became my go to place. The food is amazing, the restaurant itself has an incredible view. And best of all the staff are welcoming and friendly. Their main concern is that you are happy and well served. I ate many dishes on the menu, the beef tartare, the rib steak, the octopus salad, Checco’s spareribs (a must), and the veal wiener schnitzel. Everything dish is superb. They also have an incredible wine list. And their olive oil is so good you’ll want to drink it. If you’re in Ortisei this place is a must. A special thank you to everyone that took care of me.
26/08/2024: Beautiful environment. The owner is kind, but not so the girls serving. Never a hint of a smile. Very dry in their ways. Microfiltered water at 5 euros is an exaggerated price. The price of all dishes is supported. Then for heaven's sake... you are in Ortisei...
