Wonderful experience. The restaurant is located first of all in a former sixteenth-century stately building, with a very fascinating history that we recommend you ask to be told on site; we had dinner in the internal courtyard, but the room with the large fireplace and the small, more romantic terrace are also splendid. The menu also caters for vegetarian needs, which is much appreciated. Everything we tasted was delicious, from the gnocchi to the Sagrantino, to the buffalo stew, to the dessert; the attention to the quality of the ingredients was evident in the goodness of some very simple dishes such as buffalo scamorza or garden tomatoes. The more than honest prices and the friendliness of all the staff complete a visit that we can't wait to repeat.

A family from Rome, whose founder worked for years for large companies in cattle breeding, decides to start his own business and come to the border with Umbria to raise buffalo. Then they plant the wheat, start making pasta and cheese and then almost by chance they find a magnificent building in the central area of ​​the ancient village of Otricoli where they have set up a "trattoria of the peasant tradition". The service, with the beautiful, friendly and efficient girls in the room, is precise and friendly and the products are of excellent quality with mention of the stews, the matured cheese and the fried vegetables. The wine list is short and local, all organic but with very interesting and well-priced products. For me then the ambience of stars would deserve 6 with 2 outdoor areas one more beautiful than the other and the rooms with fireplaces and buffaloes that dominate.

I confess that the affection I have for this place is equal to the pleasure I feel every time in tasting the cuisine of Paola and her incredible team/family. It's just like that at NeraFera: you enter and your heart opens, you read the menu and smile, eat and make peace with the world. It's the best place to go if you want to try excellent traditional dishes and meet people who are worth it!

We had dinner here in April 2024 and I forgot to write a review. It was just lovely, a superb meal, beautifully presented in a gorgeous building. We are looking at buying a holiday apartment in Otricoli and will be back to Nera Fera in the future.
