I visited the exhibition on Niki de Saint Phalle and I really appreciated it but some things are unacceptable. €16 for a full ticket and €14 for a reduced ticket for young people already seems crazy to me. When I pay such an amount I expect at least to be able to leave my coat in the cloakroom, but no, only bags and backpacks, but why? It's -2 degrees outside and at least 25 inside! The labels explaining the works were printed in 12 font, you had to stand 5cm away to be able to read them. The best surprises at the gift shop: €2.50 for a postcard, I've never seen such a price in any other European museum, but above all €12 for this black and white sheet (not cardboard) to colour, D O D I C I E U R O. Thieves.

it is a museum and exhibition center inaugurated in 2015 in conjunction with Expo, dedicated to the valorisation and interdisciplinary research on world cultures. The finds and collections of non-European collections have been placed in this museum. Exhibition center for exhibitions and temporary events. On this occasion we came to visit the Niki de Saint Phalle exhibition.

An evening at MUDEC - Museum of Cultures: a journey through art (and bitterness)
Imagine a promising evening at MUDEC, the Museum of Cultures. Arrive full of expectations, ready to enjoy Dubuffet's art and, why not, to justify the 88 euros (2 adults and 2 children) tickets to see Dubuffet and Saintphalle together (why the Louvre? Too mainstream, right?). But reality appears with a mocking grin.
Act one: the welcome
At the ticket office we are welcomed by a young lady whose smile must have been lost between one inventory and another. When we decide to see only Dubuffet (partly out of passion, partly to avoid mortgaging the house), he looks at us as if we had come to ask for a discount for a happy hour. Too bad they don't tell us that the audio guide is included and all you need is a QR code. We find out after climbing the stairs, obviously, thanks to the guardian. Always nice to feel informed afterwards.
Act two: the exhibition
We enter full of enthusiasm and, after three walls, the enthusiasm collapses. Dubuffet ends there. The rest? Some notable pieces, sure, but if we had known that it was more of an exhibition about the movement than about the artist, we would have calibrated our expectations (and perhaps our wallet) better. Free advice? Call it “L’Art Brut” and spare visitors a similar disappointment.
Third act: the shop and the final prank
Once the exhibition is over, we visit the shop. Catalog? 34 euros. Teachers card? Not received. We emerge poorer but with a useful publication (at least we hope). Before leaving, we discover by chance that the ticket also included the permanent exhibition, a detail kindly omitted by the ticket agent. We go back up (second time!), at least the perm also contains a Tiziano (thanks, Tiziano, at least you don't disappoint), and then off to the car park.
And here is the grand finale.
Parking: 4.5 euros per hour. A reasonable price if we consider that you practically park next to the works. Too bad the automatic checkouts don't work. On floor -2 they only accept cash, but no change. The message? “You have 10 days to return to recover the credit.” Brilliant, especially for those who have done 250 km and will never return.
The budget
Exhibition time: 10 cum laude (we entered at 9pm on Saturday and the exhibition was just for us).
Ticket office courtesy: 2 (very generous).
Guardians: 7 (thanks for the audio guide).
Exhibition: 5 (the description was more artistic than the works).
Audio guide: 7 (when there is one, it is appreciated).
Ticket price: Expensive.
Parking: Expensive and poorly managed.
Final advice?
Evaluate carefully. Or go, but with low expectations and lots of cash.

Free entrance for the permanent exhibit. Average one. Maybe I should have tried the current exhibition…

Beautifully renovated former industrial building.
The permanent collection offers works from all continents and is accompanied by a large explanatory apparatus.
Plus it's free.
The temporary exhibitions are sometimes a little disappointing because they present a limited number of works.
This is not the case with Niki de St, Phalle, very rich and very interesting!

Bar, bistrot, coffe point davvero elegante.
