Finally, thank God, real osterias still exist, those where the owner does everything himself, and to the best of his ability, without making anyone wait.
The place could perhaps use a little updating, but Massimo, the owner and chef, offers a few dishes, but they're well-structured and perfectly cooked. His friendliness and helpfulness are unique. I was truly touched when, at the end of the meal, he offered us mandarins from his garden—a truly kind gesture, whereas in restaurants, everything is written down to the last detail on the receipt. By the way, the prices are fabulous; everything is truly excellent.
Well done, Massimo!

I went today for the first time. Massimo is an authentic host, perhaps the only one left in Frascati.

One of the best places to eat authentic home cooking at a great price. The fettuccine is hand-cut and freshly made with perfectly cooked ragu. The owner is very friendly. The Vino dei Castelli is excellent. And the price is more than reasonable.

Entering is like opening a portal to the past, where simplicity and kindness reign supreme. Massimo immediately strikes you with his humility and kindness, a kindness that no longer exists in the world, and that alone is worth it. He truly makes you feel at home. The food was excellent, simple but delicious. In this day and age where everything is geared toward appearances, where people go to restaurants just to take photos and post them, it moves me to think that there are still people like Massimo you can go to if you want to eat and feel at home. Thank you ❤️

If you're looking for an authentic experience, far from mass tourism, this trattoria in Frascati is a true treasure. As soon as you enter, it feels like you've stepped back in time: an atmosphere of yesteryear, sincere, simple, and full of soul, like the eateries of the last century.
The owner, Massimo, isn't just the heart of the place—he's everything: he personally cooks, serves with natural elegance and rare kindness. Each dish is freshly prepared, with dedication and care.
We started with a fantastic mixed antipasto: sausages, flavorful potatoes, peppers and eggplant, prosciutto and salami, mozzarella. Everything was fresh, simple, and perfect.
For our first courses, we chose lasagna and gnocchi—both handmade by Massimo himself, accompanied by a rich and authentic sauce. You can sense that each recipe has a story to tell.
To conclude, Massimo offered us mandarin oranges, a genuine gesture that captures the spirit of the place. The wine is house-made, as sincere as the atmosphere.
This place is a nightmare only because, once you've discovered it, everything else will seem fake. And that's a miracle, because experiences like this have almost disappeared in a world designed for tourists.
Massimo carries on his family tradition, following in the footsteps of his mother, who once occupied the same place in the kitchen.
If you want to experience the real Italy—the one that smells like home, not a postcard—this is the place.
