Meso's Bar In Bologna

Although the coffee bar is very central and frequented by tourists during the day, it has nevertheless retained its traditional charm and is extremely pleasant. If you want to start your day with a delicious coffee in Bologna, then this is the place to go! The breakfast selection is extensive and delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we spontaneously went back for a second coffee and brioche.

Efficient staff, excellent location, right in the center but on a very quiet side street. Excellent food, safe for those with food intolerances. Highly recommended for celiacs!

I came to Meso for a gluten-free breakfast, since I'm celiac. The chocolate croissant I ordered arrived warm and was really good. My friend, on the other hand, ordered savory crepes and swore they were delicious. As for the prices, I can't say if they're high because I'm not from the area. Overall, I recommend the place.

Went to Bar Meso for breakfast based on reviews of their gluten-free offerings. I was willing to trek anywhere to try a gf croissant! Small place off an alley where u can sit inside or out. We sat outside, which was nice. Ordered a latte, lemon pastry, fruit cup, berry custard croissant and gluten free croissant. The regular croissant was excellent! The gluten free croissant, although I enjoyed it and appreciated it being offered, does not taste like a regular croissant. If you've ever had the Pillsbury crescent rolls that pop out of the tube, that's what these look and taste like. That's not bad - those r quite tasty. They're just denser, not as buttery and aren't a true flaky croissant. There are other gf offerings as well, we just did the croissant. Also really appreciated that they offered a fruit bowl! We were craving fresh fruit/veggies by this point in the trip and their fruit bowl was refreshing and hit the spot.

Off the beaten path, I found this gem while wondering around trying to find breakfast. I don’t speak a lick of Italian and I left a few places before ordering, frustrated and not liking the hustle and bustle. Two very nice men work here and they were very nice to me. So nice that I am currently walking almost a mile to get here every morning to support their business. We have a routine now with what I order and they are more than accommodating. I have been enjoying their salami/mozzarella crepes the most. Outside seating is my favorite except the view is of nothing in particular with a pedestrian walking by here and there.
