24/12/2025: I had lunch at La Cucina dello Scompiglio today, and overall, I'm giving it three stars based more on trust than on genuine satisfaction (otherwise, it would have been two).
The main issue, from my perspective, is a significant discrepancy between the menu and what's actually served. The vocabulary used on the menu creates expectations that aren't reflected in either the plating or the overall experience. The presentation of the dishes was very basic, even sloppy.
A concrete example is the charcuterie and cheese platter: served not on a real platter but on a serving platter, with cold cuts piled together, under-appreciated cheeses, and a jam placed in a rather questionable manner. Overall, a dish that feels "thrown in," out of line with the offerings and, especially, the price.
Regarding the quality of the meat and the plating of the other dishes, I wasn't convinced by the quality of the food compared to the price.
Another important aspect: the menu is almost entirely based on vegetables/vegetarian dishes. Nothing bad in itself, but this should be made much clearer. My friends and I had a hard time choosing because the menu didn't clearly communicate this.
Another negative note about dessert: I ordered a revisited panna cotta, which I barely tasted and left almost entirely. I didn't like it at all, and was surprised that no one asked if I liked it. Considering a panna cotta is a rather simple dessert, it left me perplexed.
I sincerely believe the place has potential, but in my opinion it needs a general overhaul: from the menu, to the presentation, to the consistency between the menu, dishes, and prices.
I hope this review can be useful as a starting point for improvement. For now, personally, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.
