Mauriz Keller In Castelrotto

A typical restaurant that surprised us! A warm and welcoming place, with a menu for all tastes. The tagliatelle with mushrooms are excellent, and the main courses are equally good. The prices are perfectly in line with the average, and the staff is friendly. We'll be back!

We were absolutely delighted with our visit to this restaurant. The quality of the food was outstanding – truly delicious and prepared with excellent, fresh ingredients. The portion sizes were also perfectly proportioned, ensuring we left feeling full and satisfied. The very fair price-performance ratio deserves special mention. For the quality and quantity of the food, it's more than reasonable. The ambiance is beautiful: cozy, authentic, and with a genuine Italian flair that makes you feel instantly at ease. Add to that the very attentive and courteous service, with a great eye for detail. All in all, we had a truly wonderful evening and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

I waited until the end of our holiday to write this review. After visiting in 2018 and 2019, this was our third time in Ortisei. How is it possible that a restaurant’s quality hasn’t changed at all even after six years? Whatever you choose from the menu, you will never regret it—because there simply isn’t a “bad” dish here. The kitchen is clearly run with remarkable planning, care, and precision, and every plate that comes out is, in a word, outstanding. With its warm and welcoming staff, delicious cuisine, and wonderful atmosphere, Mauriz Keller is, for us, one of the finest restaurants in the world and absolutely a place that must be experienced. If you are visiting Ortisei or the surrounding area, you honestly don’t need to look for another restaurant—Mauriz Keller is the only address you need. The fact that we came here on five of the six evenings during our stay in Ortisei probably says it all. Friendly service, the food was excellent, but the prices were too high (more than average). Pizza was €24!!! The area where we were seated, which accommodates larger groups, was less inviting than the rest of the restaurant and very noisy. This, along with the exorbitant prices, partly determined the evening.

The quality has declined significantly since last year. While the portions are large, the prices are also considerable! And the quality was disappointing. The carbonara was swimming in grease, the bacon dumpling soup was barely seasoned, and the salad was very basic. The lasagna, however, was excellent, and the complimentary pizza bread was also very tasty! €170 for four adults without dessert was not worth it.

The best barley soup in all of South Tyrol, we'll get a subscription :) Everything is top-notch, it's impossible to find anything wrong with this place, starting with the food, the service, the atmosphere, the cleanliness... The menu is extensive, with plenty of choice and variety. Congratulations!

So this is probably the best restaurant in Ortisei and that’s saying something as it’s impossible to not eat well everywhere in this town based on our experience. I would recommend making a reservation as it gets really busy. The staff make you feel special, it’s a family run business and you can tell. It matters. They all work really hard but always with a smile and a friendly word. The food was top notch. Portion size is just right, not heavy but well cooked and flavoursome with quality ingredients. The drinks were fancy and served in the most elegant glassware. The atmosphere is second to none. You feel like you’re in the best place in town. It’s fancy without being family unfriendly and there is something for everyone on the menu. We are going back again in a few days as our first visit was such a joy.
