We traveled along the via dei brentatori (from Bologna to Bazzano about 50 km) and stopped in Gesso, a stone's throw from Zola Predosa. We had dinner in this characteristic place, on the recommendation of the owner of the B&B Gesso 117, where we slept, about 250 meters away. Excellent quality of the homemade pasta (ravioli with butter and sage), mutton, scallops with mushrooms, grilled vegetables, crescents of which we have asked for an encore, delicious, not at all greasy (in some places they drip oil, but here they are special). Delicious homemade desserts, water, Lambrusco wine and myrtle liqueur. Fair price for what we ate, not at all expensive. Ended the evening by playing a game of table football which was outside under the porch.

Ci siamo trovati bene, luogo umile, con pasta fresca fatta in casa, crescentine e salumi buoni, grigliata normale, servizio normale.
Siamo andati con basse aspettative visto le recensioni, sinceramente lo trovo un posto giusto per una cena semplice e senza pretese.

A restaurant that I usually frequent with my family, where I also went yesterday and which I am fond of because it is vintage, or rather "like it used to be" (for those who know how to appreciate places that do not follow fashion but tradition).
3 things that excel above the others:
1) the barbecue is hands down the best in Bologna for the quality of the meat and the skill of the owner in cooking it in the beautiful open grill;
2) the friendliness and helpfulness of the waiters which makes me feel at home;
3) Crema ice cream with cherries.

Christmas dinner with friends. Although the quality of the food was of an excellent level, unfortunately the quantity of the barbecue and side dishes was not up to the standard of a dinner, but the worst came with the bill, over 50 euros each for a first course, a bit of meat, 2 vegetable dishes, fried potatoes and sweets. They didn't even exaggerate with the wine!

Good first and second courses, of the desserts I think only the one with black cherries and rice cake is good.
Honorable mention to the french fries. The best I have ever tasted in a restaurant.
