We were staying in Obereggen , when we had a short drive to this restaurant , we had pizza 🍕 & salad 🥗 and both were very testy. I recommend 👌🏼

A dream of juicy, crispy sourdough pizza… from their own fields, organically grown grains like rye, spelt, and wheat, whose flours are used to make pizza and pasta doughs and pastries. And to top it all off, the best local beer from Nopphof. Fantastic, and always a pleasure!

Great staff and pizza. Diavola was the best I’ve had in a while for a good price, definitely should add Nduja to this pizza as standard, it’s very good quality and taste. 👍

Absolutely love Marxnkeller. We discovered this tucked-away gem about three years ago, and it has since become our favorite pizzeria and restaurant during our ski trips to Obereggen. Max, the owner and chef, is incredibly accommodating and friendly, and his food is consistently outstanding. It is always the first choice for my children when they are asked where they want to eat. On our first visit, we tried the traditional South Tyrolean Schlutzkrapfen, a type of ravioli made with rye and spelt flour and filled with spinach and ricotta, served in the most delicious browned butter and sage sauce. It quickly became our favorite dish, and the chef even shared the authentic recipe with us so we could make it at home. It is still one of our favorite family meals. Unfortunately, this dish is not on the menu anymore, but everything else tastes just as good. We are always excited to return to Marxnkeller, and I recommend it with great pleasure. Definitely reserve a table in advance.

Rifugio Troier

01/06/2026: It was very crowded, the poor waiters could barely keep up — and this was on a weekday in May. The food was good. The portions were actually a bit too big, so we couldn’t try dessert in the end. Skiwasser was new to me, but I really liked it. I’d avoid the place during peak hours, but otherwise it’s not bad.
01/06/2026: Very nice cabin with a sunny terrace and delicious food 🥘

Ristorante Etschgrund

22/05/2026: This year we visited the Adige Valley for the third time, and it looks like we'll be returning tomorrow, our last day of vacation. This isn't due to convenience, as we're staying practically next door at the equally recommendable Gruberhof, but simply because the food in the Adige Valley is incredibly delicious, and the hospitality is unbelievable. It starts with the complimentary amuse-bouche every time, a thoughtful touch that's become so rare in many restaurants these days. The menu itself isn't extensive, but the quality is exceptional. You can taste that someone who truly understands their craft (the hostess's son) is at the helm, and they're passionate about it. At the same time, Helga, the hostess, is such a lovely and warm hostess that you almost feel like part of the family. And you'll get to know them all anyway: the friendly daughter, who also serves quickly and attentively, and the incredibly funny grandma, who at 92 years old sits sprightly in front of her liter of beer and simply fits right in with the charming atmosphere of a traditional inn. Although located directly on the road, you hardly notice the traffic noise, even in the beer garden, unless some young man with a small penis feels the need to demonstrate the power of his souped-up Audi with a loud exhaust at the car wash across the street. Otherwise, it's fine, and it's quiet inside anyway. The price-performance ratio is really quite good, especially considering the quality of the food. My beloved paccheri pasta with veal ragout and truffles cost €16.90 (as of 2026), which is more than fair. Even South Tyrol manages to offer worse food for more money, for example at the Römerkeller in Merano (I can only advise against this dive), whereas in the Adige Valley you're always in good hands. And for any recovering alcoholics who want to relapse: there's always a free schnapps at the end... All the best and thank you for your hospitality, dear Helga and the entire team at the Adige Valley. Should we ever cross the Alps again like Hannibal (only in the opposite direction) and land in the sunny Adige Valley, we'll gladly stay with you again. Julia & Thomas from faraway Stendal
21/05/2026: You can immediately tell that this restaurant is a family-run business, managed with pure passion. The hosts are incredibly friendly and attentive – you feel instantly welcome. The food was simply exquisite and prepared to perfection. Furthermore, the restaurant is very tastefully and comfortably furnished. We will definitely be back!
