Kiosk bar/restaurant on the side of the road, a street with little traffic, almost pedestrian, therefore quiet as if it were a lido on the beach. The owner is a character who at first (and perhaps also at second) impact appears grumpy, it seems that you bother him even just for a coffee, if you overcome this first approach, you find delicious cuisine with honest prices and in the end he even makes you laugh his attitude and if you're lucky he even gives you a smile and a joke....

Mario is a bit special, but you can make him smile and be nice. Not a remarkable place, but it does its job: satiates the stomach and the eye.

We spent two nights at the campsite in the bay of Cala Sapone. And after hearing so much about Mario, we were of course curious and went there last night for sunset. Here's our opinion: Mario is actually a cranky guy (we were very polite to him), but we like experiences like that. That's part of the vacation. He can be grim, a little annoyed but also helpful and with a smile on his face. The atmosphere is simple, good music. The food came quickly, the sea bream was good, my girlfriend had pulpo diavolo (on a small plate). There were also two Ichnusa 0.5 and a very simple salad mista. So far everything is good. I would have liked to know that the sea bream comes without a side dish. So we found the price of 48 euros (+2 euros tip, which is mandatory) too high for what it was, even if you obviously pay a little more for the ambience of the bay (not likely in the dark). Conclusion: you can do it, but you don't have to.

Rustic place on a gorgeous beach. I immediately liked it, the "trattoria" atmosphere of years gone by, where there is good food without the need for frills and decorations. Nice atmosphere, for those willing to have a laugh without too much ceremony!

Posto meraviglioso, eravamo stati 4 anni fa e ci siamo tornati. Posto semplice ma con cucina ottima, tonno con pomodoro buonissimo è morbido, cozze e seppie in umido. Vivamente consigliato!

Il locale si trova sulla strada, davanti a Cala Sapone. È un bar/ristorante/tabacchino ecc. gestito da Mario, uomo di pochissime parole. Bellissima la vista sul tramonto alla sera. Tutto è spartano e rapido. Mangiato spaghetti ai ricci, spaghetti alla bottarga, formaggio e seppie entrambi arrosto.. difficile dire quale fosse più buono. Mitica Pinella in cucina!
